According to a group, the nomination of the Ex- Parliamentary Candidate would be an insult to the intelligence of the Zongo communities in the Sekyere Kumawu Constituency.

Mr. SualeyOlanto Yakubu, the Secretary of the constituency Elections Directorate told a press conference that the former NDC candidate allegedly made a derogatory comment against the Zongos that he would not allow a native from the Zongo to lead the party in the Constituency.

According to him the Zongo community played a significant role in the last elections and that their grievances must be addressed.

Mr. Yakubu said their preferred choice for the position of the District Chief Executive is one Shamsu Huda, the deputy constituency secretary who has been with the party and worked to turn the fortunes of the party round and, therefore, qualifies to be nominated as the DCE for the district.

The youth pleaded with President John Dramani Mahama and the Local Government Minister to consider appointing Mr. Shamsu Huda for the position, else they would advise themselves.
