Mr. Yakubu Mohammed, the Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South East, has hinted at plans to introduce a Private Member’s Bill that will make paternity tests compulsory for every child born in Ghana.

He told newsmen that the proposed bill is aimed at enhancing trust between partners and spouses and promoting harmony in family life.

The MP expressed optimism that the measure would reduce doubts and breaches of trust in relationships.

According to him, the Bill when passed would also ensure that children live happily with parents or guardians who may be dealing with uncertainty, while guaranteeing that fathers take full responsibility for their children’s upbringing and protecting the rights of the children.

Mr. Mohammed contended that passage of the Bill would do Ghanaians, especially expectant parents good and provide some relief to fully enjoy family live with their wards without any doubts.

He disclosed that plans are far advance to take the bull by the horn by putting pragmatic measures in place to ensure that the Bill sees the light of the day to save marriages and relationships.
