Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo calls for peace& unity among Akuapems

His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, Okuapehene, has called on the people of Akuapem to bury all the differences that have arisen as a result of his enstoolment.

According to him, it is normal for brothers and sisters to agree and disagree on issues, particularly in contemporary chieftaincy community.
Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III made the call in his maiden speech, shortly after the traditional and administrative powers of the Akuapem Traditional Council was handed over to him at a short but impressive ceremony at Akropong on Tuesday.
The handing over ceremony was heavily attended by the clergy, politicians and very important personalities in society, and most especially all the five divisional chiefs within the traditional area.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, who graced the occasion re-echoed the need to promote peace and unity among traditional leaders for development in Okuapeman and its neighbouring communities in the Eastern region.

According to the Minister, peace and unity brings development and progress in the community.
He said God has blessed Okuapeman with natural resources and lots of tourist attractions, which has attracted more foreigners, adding that tourist attraction centers will create jobs and opportunities for the youths.
The Regional minister stated that government was well prepared to support the Akuapem Traditional Council to resolve chieftaincy disputes in its communities and bring unity among traditional leaders to foster development.

He urged the Akuapem traditional leaders to continue their fight to preserve the lands and natural resources for the next generation.
Background
It would be recalled that His Royal Majesty, Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III, passed into glory on  August 3, 2015 and just like every great kingdom, when a king dies, there are customary laws which are followed through, in selecting the right royal for the throne.

Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, the Okuapemhene, known in private life as Odehye Kwadwo Kesse Antwi, who arrived in Ghana in January 2016 was nominated to go through the process of selection and installation to be King.

However, due to internal family disputes and other contentions, this process took another two years.
