Matchday 18 of the Ghana Premier League delivered another compelling chapter in what continues to be a fiercely competitive season. Across the country, fans witnessed a mix of tightly contested stalemates, dominant home performances and a few crucial away victories that could prove decisive, as teams jostle for position on the table. Defensive discipline was a recurring theme, but there were also moments of attacking quality that lit up the round.
Asante Kotoko 0–0 Berekum Chelsea
It was a tense and highly tactical encounter between two sides with rich Premier League pedigree. Both Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea approached the match with caution, clearly aware of the risks involved in over committing. Kotoko enjoyed spells of possession, particularly in the second half but struggled to break down Chelsea’s compact defensive shape.
Berekum Chelsea, on the other hand, were organised and patient, looking to exploit transitions rather than dominate the ball. Clear-cut chances were few and far between, with both goalkeepers rarely tested. In the end, the goalless draw reflected a contest defined more by tactical discipline than attacking flair, as both teams settled for a point.
Aduana FC 2–1 Karela United
Aduana FC once again demonstrated why Dormaa Ahenkro remains one of the toughest venues in the league. The hosts started brightly, pressing aggressively and moving the ball with intent. Their early dominance paid off as they took control of the game and built a deserved lead.
Karela United showed resilience and managed to pull one goal back, briefly threatening a comeback. However, Aduana’s experience and composure were evident in the closing stages. They managed the game effectively, slowed the tempo and defended intelligently to secure all three points. The victory reinforced Aduana’s strong home form and kept them firmly in contention near the top end of the table.
Bechem United 1–0 Bibiani Gold Stars
This was a classic Ghana Premier League encounter, where fine margins made all the difference. Bechem United capitalised on a moment of attacking efficiency to score the only goal of the game, while Bibiani Gold Stars were left to rue missed opportunities.

Bechem’s defensive organization was impressive, as they absorbed pressure and denied Gold Stars space in dangerous areas. The hosts showed maturity in game management, especially late on, ensuring that the slim advantage was preserved. The result highlighted Bechem United’s ability to grind out results, particularly in closely fought contests.
Dreams FC 3–0 Heart of Lions
Dreams FC produced one of the standout performances of Matchday 18 of the Ghana Premier League with a dominant display against Heart of Lions. From the opening whistle, Dreams dictated the tempo, moving the ball quickly and exploiting spaces between the lines.

Their attacking movement caused constant problems for the visitors and the goals came as a result of sustained pressure and incisive play in the final third. Defensively, Dreams were equally solid, limiting Heart of Lions to speculative efforts. The comprehensive victory not only boosted their goal difference but also sent a strong statement about their ambitions for the remainder of the season.
Medeama SC 3–0 Young Apostles
Medeama SC underlined their championship credentials with a commanding performance against Young Apostles. The defending champions controlled possession and tempo throughout the match, showing a clear gulf in experience and quality.
Their pressing game forced errors, and they were ruthless in converting chances when they arose. Young Apostles struggled to cope with Medeama’s intensity and attacking variety. The clean sheet capped off a near-perfect afternoon for Medeama, who continue to look increasingly comfortable as the season progresses.
Samartex 0–0 Vision FC
This encounter was a closely matched affair, with neither side able to find the decisive breakthrough. Much of the contest was played in midfield, where both teams focused on structure and ball retention rather than risk-taking.
Chances were limited, and while there were moments of promise at both ends, defensive discipline ultimately prevailed. The draw suited neither side entirely, but it did reflect the balance of play over the ninety minutes. Both Samartex and Vision FC will see positives in their organisation, even if the attacking output left room for improvement.
Swedru All Blacks 1–1 Nations FC
One of the more entertaining fixtures of the round, this match saw both teams display character and resilience. Swedru All Blacks started strongly and looked confident on the ball, but Nations FC responded well and grew into the game.
Both sides found the net and continued to push for a winner, creating a competitive and open contest. In the end, neither team could assert full control and the draw felt like a fair outcome. The result kept both teams within touching distance of their respective objectives for the season.
Hohoe United 0–1 Hearts of Oak
Hearts of Oak produced a disciplined and professional away performance to secure a vital three points. In a tight and often physical contest, the Phobians took advantage of a well-executed attacking moment to score the decisive goal.

Once ahead, Hearts focused on defensive solidity and game management, frustrating Hohoe United’s attempts to find an equaliser. The clean sheet away from home will be particularly pleasing for the Hearts coaching staff, as such results often prove crucial in title or top-four pushes.
Eleven Wonders 2–0 Holy Stars
Eleven Wonders concluded Round 18 with a composed and confident display against Holy Stars. The home side showed greater urgency and creativity in attack, converting two well-worked goals to take firm control of the match.
Defensively, they remained organised and alert, limiting Holy Stars to very few genuine scoring opportunities. The performance reflected a growing belief within the squad and provided a valuable boost as the season enters a more decisive phase.
With tight margins separating teams at both ends of the table, every point gained or dropped continues to carry significant weight. As the season moves forward, consistency, discipline, and the ability to seize key moments will likely determine which teams achieve their ambitions and which are left chasing ground in the weeks ahead.
