Deputy Minister lauds soldiers for professionalism

The Deputy Minister for Defence, Kofi Amankwaa-Manu, has urged President Akufo-Addo and former President John Dramani Mahama to keep their cool, as the country’s soldiers are well trained and would not trade their professionalism for anything untoward.

Speaking with so much confidence, he said: “What I know basically is that we have armed forces that are very professional. They have been trained as soldiers. At any given time, I will put my neck on the table to vouch for the professionalism of the Ghana Armed Forces. That I have no doubt at all. So in any given time they will exhibit professionalism that they have been trained to acquire.”

He said this while being interviewed by the media after a Land Combat Fire Power Demonstration (LCFPD) at the Bundase Training Camp in the Greater Accra Region last Friday.

According to him, the soldiers, by virtue of their training, would not abandon their duty call to the nation.

On the LCFPD, the Deputy Minister indicated that the exercise was to draw a line between classroom knowledge acquisition and field practice of defence.

The General Officer Commanding the South Command of the GAF, AyisiAmoah, Brigadier General, in his welcome address, said the Land Combat Firepower Demonstration was a major annual event on the calendar of the Ghana Armed Forces.
