We are going to break the ‘8’ -Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has assured supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the party was going to break the ‘8’ in the upcoming general elections.

He said those who doubted the performance of the NPP government should wait and see the party break ‘8’.

Speaking at the launch of the NPP new membership card at Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi on Tuesday, the President expressed hope that the party would be declared victorious in 2024, and entreated every member to visit their polling stations and register for the card to enhance the party’s membership drive.

He gave an assurance that the NPP was the only party that had the solutions to the global challenges, and urged everyone to join the government to bring the challenging economy back on track.

Lawyer Justin Koduah Frimpong, the General Secretary explained the need to acquire the new ID card, which he said is not meant for voting, but to ensure status of a member of the party.

According to him, the ID cards would enhance a house-to-house campaign for easy identification of one’s contribution to the party to be rewarded when there was the need.

He said there would be a mobile App attached to the ID card to ensure easy payments of monthly dues by registered members.

Mr. Stephen Ayensu Ntim, National Chairman of the NPP, described the new membership ID card as very unique which would be permanent for any registered member.

He disclosed that the card would enable the party to know its numerical strength and seen as agents and ambassadors.
