Viktoria Plzen head coach Radoslav Kovac has allayed fears over the injury sustained by Ghana international Prince Adu Kwabena during their Czech Republic top-flight clash against Slavia Prague.
The Black Stars forward was forced off after suffering a head injury in Viktoria Plzen’s 2-1 defeat to Slavia Prague in the ninth round of the Czech league on Sunday.
Adu Kwabena started the game on the bench before being introduced in the 70th minute as Viktoria Plzen sought to find a way back into the contest.
However, the Ghanaian attacker was unable to see out the game after sustaining the head injury late in the encounter.
He was stretched off the pitch in the 90th minute, raising concerns over his condition and his availability for Ghana’s upcoming international assignments.
Despite not receiving full medical update, Kovac insists the injury won’t be serious.
“I don’t have any information yet. Hopefully it won’t be anything serious, but I haven’t spoken to the doctors yet,” he said.
Ghana are scheduled to travel to face Ivory Coast on September 24 before hosting The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29.
The Black Stars will then wrap up the international window with a friendly against Morocco as head coach Carlos Queiroz continues preparations with his squad.
