Stanbic Bank has held a five-day (WiSTEMGh) Girls Camp 2026 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) towards STEM and Carrer Choice.
The camp was held under the theme: “Give to Gain; Spark Her STEM Power.”
The Head of Youth Banking at Stanbic Bank, Nana Serwaah Bossman, explained that Stanbic Bank has value propositions for young girls from ages zero to twenty-five and cares about how they handle money, regardless of whether they are studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Arts or any other discipline as young people in Ghana.

She noted that the Bank is interested in young people development, hence the initiative to connect them with the STEM team within the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) environment to ensure that the girls have sound education around financial literacy, fitness, how to make their own money, how to protect it including entrepreneurship.
According to her, Stanbic Bank believes they are future leaders and must be caught young. She said the Bank is interested in youth development despite the discipline of their studies in STEM, Arts and other disciplines.
She indicated that the initiative was to connect them around financial education and literacy, on how to manage and protect their money and entrepreneurship, and in future when they come to Stanbic Bank looking for jobs, they could get the opportunity.

She added that the programme also empowers young girls on how to contribute to national development. Madam Serwaah reiterated that STEM is the foundation that gives them self-discipline and leadership skills and that Stanbic Bank is happy to employ them to do relationship management through proper training.
The Head of Youth banking noted that once they are able to get the basics of discipline and know-how for their research, female students become problem solvers, which is what the corporate world is looking for. She urged Stanbic Bank not to make the initiative a nine-day wonder, but to continue to empower young female students in the country.
