Mr. Clement Sangaparee, a founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Obuasi has appealed the general public for financial assistance.

The senior cadre is battling with enlarged prostrate for which medical bills have drained his coffers over the years. According to the retired miner, he actively campaigned in 2024 in his condition to ensure that NDC wins power to assume office.

He said despite the role he played in the Rawlings’ revolutionary days, and the sacrifices he made when the PNDC became a political party, he is struggling for finances to cure his sickness. “The late Samuel Aboagye was paying for my Medical Bills, but the help stopped with his tragic demise barely a year ago”, he told The Chronicle in a WhatsApp message.

Mr. Sangaparee, however, said he occasionally get some help from Alhaji Hacky and Mr. Kofi Ayigney, the NDC Constituency organiser.

Mr. Sangaparee’s other benefactors include Hon. Kofi Adwowu, Obuasi East MCE and

Mallam Kaadiri, a businessman in Obuasi East. He is appealing for help because loans he took from the Bank to buy medicine leave him with GHc200.00 every month after deductions.

The cadre, who lost a brother early this month, has also appealed to the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive to accord him a befitting funeral by the NDC in the event of his death since he cannot mobilise money to cure his sickness.
