In an inspiring display of hope, empowerment, and commitment to youth development, the Royal Vine Foundation has celebrated the graduation of the maiden cohort of beneficiaries under its Educational and Developmental Support Project (EDSP) through the Royal Vine Book Club (RVBC) in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The colorful graduation ceremony, held at the Akropong Library, brought together parents, educators, community leaders, and well-wishers to celebrate a milestone that organizers believe marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of leadership, service, and personal transformation for the young graduates.
The Educational and Developmental Support Project forms part of the Foundation’s broader vision of investing in children and adolescents by equipping them with practical life skills, mentorship, literacy, and educational support to become responsible, confident, and purpose-driven citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
Addressing the media after the ceremony, the Founder of the Royal Vine Foundation, Ms. Abigail Ofori, said the initiative was established to help children and young people discover their talents, build confidence, embrace their purpose, and develop the knowledge and values required to navigate life’s challenges successfully.
According to her, the programme is designed for children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 19, offering learning opportunities that complement classroom education by focusing on character development and practical life experiences.
She explained that participants undergo intensive training in critical thinking; literacy and reading, emotional intelligence, mentorship, coaching, life skills; as well as comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education.
Ms. Ofori noted that the carefully designed curriculum seeks to empower participants to make informed choices, build healthy relationships, solve problems creatively, and become responsible leaders within their families and communities.
“The future of every nation depends on the quality of its young people. Through this initiative, we are empowering children and adolescents with the knowledge, values, and confidence they need to succeed in life,” she stated.
She described the graduation as more than the completion of a training programme, saying it symbolizes the beginning of a greater responsibility for every beneficiary.
According to her, the graduates have automatically become members of the EDSP Alumni and Ambassadors Network, a platform established to provide continuous mentorship, leadership development, and opportunities for community service.
“As members of the Alumni and Ambassadors Network, they will continue to receive mentorship, acquire new skills, and explore opportunities that will prepare them for the future while identifying solutions to challenges within their communities,” she explained.
Ms. Ofori expressed confidence that empowering young people with the right values and opportunities would create a ripple effect capable of transforming entire communities.
“We believe that when young people are empowered to think critically, dream boldly, and act compassionately, they become powerful agents of transformation. Today’s graduates are not merely beneficiaries of a programme; they are ambassadors of hope, carrying the vision of building stronger, safer and more resilient communities,” she said.
Following the success of the maiden cohort, she disclosed that the foundation intends to expand the Educational and Developmental Support Project to other districts and municipalities across the Eastern Region and eventually to other parts of the country.
She, therefore, appealed to educational institutions, corporate organizations, development partners, philanthropists and individuals to partner with the Foundation in extending the programme’s impact to more children and adolescents.
According to her, collaboration among stakeholders is essential to creating sustainable opportunities for young people and ensuring that no child is denied the chance to realize his or her full potential.
Some of the graduates, who could not hide their excitement, described the programme as a life-changing experience that had significantly improved their confidence, reading culture, communication skills, and decision-making abilities.
They expressed appreciation to the Royal Vine Foundation for investing in their future and pledged to apply the knowledge and values acquired to positively influence their schools, families, and communities.
Parents who attended the ceremony also commended the Foundation for complementing formal education by nurturing discipline, leadership, and moral values among the participants.
