The Concerned Patriots of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti Region has protested against the failure of the party in conducting elections at 23 polling stations.
They have raised concerns over reports of violence and mayhem during the elections and the fact that no elections were conducted in 23 out of the 139 polling stations.
The group indicated that the Constituency has literally been “hijacked” and its executives rendered “useless” in the discharge of their duties, resulting in major infractions regarding the conduct of polling station electoral area elections.
Speaking at a news conference at Tepa on Monday, Nana Kwame Awuah, Spokesperson for the Group noted that the executives are going contrary to the provisions of the party’s constitution.

He cited improper constitution of polling station committees, non-implementation of vetting and appeal procedures, failure to publish notice of poll, voters’ register was selectively used in polling stations, conflict of interest and bias, inappropriate procedure in filing of nomination, filing of nomination forms after closure, acceptance and filing of nomination forms after closure of nominations.
The Spokesperson accused the executives of not using the register provided by the National Executive Council (NEC) and engaging voters from Tano North Constituency in the elections conducted at 116 out of 139 polling stations.
This, he said, resulted in violence and infliction of cutlass wounds on some party members at various polling stations under the nose of Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, Member of Parliament, Ahafo Ano North.
Nana Awuah indicated that since May 23, 2026 they petitioned the regional and constituency leadership for redress and to address serious infractions, irregularities and breaches, but there has not been any response.
The group wants constituency executives to thoroughly investigate all allegations and infractions and ensure that only qualified party members whose names were captured in the official polling station register in accordance with rule 27 of the guidelines are permitted to vote in subsequent elections.
As a result, the group has gone to court to restrain the party from conducting the elections.
The defendants are; Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh (1st Defendant); Bismark Osei, Constituency Chairman (2nd Defendant); Charles Addai Bonsu, Polling Stations Elections Committee Representative (3rd Defendant) and Kwaku Attah Sarpong, Regional Executive Representative (4th Defendant).
The Plaintiff, Concerned Patriots, is seeking a declaration that it is unlawful and unjustifiable for the defendants to fail to conduct polling station elections for 23 polling stations within the Ahafo Ano North Constituency and an order directed at the Defendants to conduct Polling Station Elections for the remaining 23 polling stations.
It also sought an order of the Kumasi High Court to restrain the Defendants from conducting the election of Electoral Area Coordinators and other constituency elections until and after the conduct of Polling Station Elections for the remaining 23 Polling Stations in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency.
The plaintiffs also sought for the removal of the 4th Defendant in the conduct and supervision of the Polling Stations Elections in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency and an order directing the Defendants to conduct the Polling Station Elections and Constituency Elections in accordance with the Elections Guidelines.
