Police Arrest Two Over Kwafokrom GOIL Armed Robbery

Two persons have been arrested by the Eastern South Regional Police Command in connection with the armed robbery attack at the Kwafokrom GOIL Filling Station near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

The suspects, identified as Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, were arrested following investigations into the robbery incident which occurred on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

According to a police statement issued by the Eastern South Regional Public Affairs Unit and sighted by The Chronicle, another suspect identified only as Ashivie is currently on the run and is being pursued by the police for his alleged role in the attack.

The police disclosed that a number of items believed to have been used in the robbery were retrieved from the suspects. The exhibits include an Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, an electronic shocker, a cutlass and a bulletproof vest.

The statement further indicated that during the robbery operation, the suspects allegedly shot a security guard and a pump attendant who had sought refuge in an office within the filling station premises.

The robbers reportedly made away with an amount of GH¢13,460 as well as assorted provisions whose value has not yet been determined.

 

Ammunition and other exhibits retrieved from the suspects currently in police custody following the Kwafokrom GOIL armed robbery attack.

Police investigators who later visited the crime scene retrieved nineteen spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition.

Despite the violent nature of the attack, the police said the two victims are currently in stable condition and receiving treatment.

The Eastern South Regional Police Command noted that efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accomplices and bring them before court.

Meanwhile, residents in the area have been urged to remain calm as the police, in collaboration with filling station managers, intensify security measures to prevent similar incidents.
