Manhyia Palace distances itself from disputes over Daddy Lumba’s funeral

0
The late Daddy Lumba

The Manhyia Palace has firmly distanced itself from the disputes surrounding the death and funeral arrangements of the late Highlife icon, Daddy Lumba.

In a statement published by Opemsuo Radio on 11 December 2025, the Palace urged the public to disregard attempts to involve it in the growing tensions within the musician’s family, particularly disagreements involving Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, Ernestina Fosua and the wives of the late singer.

The Palace stressed that it should not be linked to any decisions or preparations regarding Daddy Lumba’s final rites. The notice read: “Manhyia urges the general public to disregard any reports attempting to associate the Palace with matters concerning the preparations for the burial and funeral rites of Mr Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.” The announcement has prompted widespread speculation online, with many wondering whether the funeral will go ahead on Saturday, 13 December 2025, or be moved to March 2026.

Israel prepares for Storm Byron, but not all citizens will get help

0
Stormy weather in Tel Aviv, Israel

Israel is bracing itself for heavy downpours and flash floods that Storm Byron is forecast to produce, especially in the coastal areas.

The Israel Meteorological Service said on Thursday that rain is likely to cover cities from northern Israel to the Negev in the south, with floods possible in low-lying cities. Up to 150mm (5.9 inches) of rain is estimated in some coastal areas, with wind gusts of up to 90km/h (56mph).

The Israeli army chief, Eyal Zamir, issued safety guidelines for the military, cancelling all leave until 6am on Friday, prohibiting all outdoor training activities and limiting soldiers to “operational” and “essential” activities.

Israel has been on high alert. Cities across the country have taken measures to prepare for the storm, reinforcing emergency teams and opening shelters in case they are needed.

Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Eli Cohen assessed the situation with various government bodies to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during the storm.

In contrast, unrecognised Bedouin communities in southern Israel are bracing for disaster, hoping for a miracle. Close to 30,000 Palestinian citizens of Israel live in those communities without any basic services, including electricity, water, or infrastructure. Many of the homes and buildings in these communities are under demolition orders. They will face the brunt of the storm without recourse for help from Israeli authorities.

‘Israel is the nation state of the Jewish people’

Recognised non-Jewish towns in the Negev have a tense relationship with the state. On Wednesday, Omar al-Asam, head of the Tal al-Sabe Council, announced a strike to protest against the police blocking off the town’s only entrance and assaulting one of the residents.

“The police’s racist and aggressive conduct is unacceptable, and it goes to show the police’s racist attitude towards Arab citizens across the country, especially in the Negev,” al-Asam told local media.

This tension is a mainstay in Israel’s relationship with its non-Jewish citizens. In 2019, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Israel is not a state of all its citizens.”

“According to the basic nationality law we passed, Israel is the nation state of the Jewish people – and only it,” Netanyahu wrote on Instagram in response to criticism from Israeli actor Rotem Sela.

This attitude is part of Israel’s institutional discrimination against non-Jewish citizens, amounting to apartheid according to experts and human rights organisations. In the past two years, right-wing politicians have advocated for the expulsion of Palestinian citizens of Israel or conditioning nationality on loyalty. Some have repeatedly attempted to outlaw non-Jewish parties and expel members of Knesset, the Israeli parliament, most recently in June 2025.

US sanctions network it says recruits Colombian fighters for Sudan civil war

0
Refugees from el-Fasher - which fell to the paramilitary RSF in recent weeks - have settled in a camp in the north

The US has imposed sanctions on a network it says is recruiting former Colombian soldiers and training individuals to fight in Sudan’s civil war.

Eight entities and individuals – primarily of Colombian nationality – have been aiding the Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said on Tuesday.

Its statement added that hundreds of Colombian mercenaries have travelled to Sudan since 2024, including to serve as infantry and drone pilots for the RSF.

Last year, Colombian President Gustavo Petro said those who “spill young blood for money in foreign countries must be punished criminally”.

The participation of soldiers – both former and active – in foreign conflicts dates back decades to the US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, in exchange for American military aid in Colombia’s war on drugs and armed groups.

“This created an even greater number of Colombian soldiers who, two decades later, are beginning to retire without a sufficient source of income,” a retired military officer turned academic told BBC Mundo.

Alfonso Manzur explained that as a result, “we see more Colombian ex-soldiers on missions abroad”.

Retired Colombian soldiers are commonly recruited under false promises of low-risk work, before appearing on the frontlines, such as in the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and in Sudan.

In 2024, the Colombian foreign ministry said it was aware of citizens being deceived by what it called “sophisticated human trafficking networks”, and becoming mercenaries in international conflicts.

Pakistan’s military sentences its former spy chief to 14 years in jail

0
Imran Khan

Pakistan’s former spy chief has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by a military court, on charges including violation of state secrets and interfering in politics.

Faiz Hameed led Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency from 2019 to 2021, during the tenure of now-jailed former prime minister Imran Khan.

He was known to be a staunch supporter of Khan, and took early retirement shortly after Khan was ousted in a no-confidence vote in 2022.

It is the first time that an ISI chief in Pakistan has been court martialled. His lawyer said he plans to appeal against the verdict.

The ISI chief is seen as the second most powerful position in Pakistan’s military.

According to a press release issued by the public relations arm of Pakistani military (ISPR), the 15-month-long court martial proceeding began on August 12, 2024, under the Pakistan Army Act.

Hameed was tried on four charges, including “involvement in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act which harmed the interest of the state, misuse of his powers and government resources, and causing harm to citizens”.

The ISPR statement added that Hameed had been given “the right to have a defence team of his choice” and that he has the right to appeal the decision in the “appropriate forum”, which would be the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The exact details of the case are not public as the hearing was held behind closed doors in a military court.

The statement says that Hameed’s alleged involvement in fomenting political agitation and instability is being dealt with separately.

This is assumed to be regarding allegations that Hameed was tied to protests against Imran Khan’s arrest on 9 May 2023.

Hameed’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, said his client was “1,000% innocent, but this is the court’s decision”.

“We were unaware of the judgement and only found out through the ISPR’s press release. We are now applying to the relevant forum for a copy of the decision,” he told the BBC.

“As soon as we receive it, we will review it and immediately file a petition to appeal. Right now, the first forum for appeal is the army chief, so that is what we will do. We are hopeful that at the next forum we will present our case and obtain justice.”

10 Foods to Help You Look Younger

0
Chocolate

Avocado

Avocados are rich in fat-soluble vitamin E and healthy monounsaturated fats. Vitamin E protects against oxidative damage caused by too many free radicals, sun-related aging, and the loss of collagen – the skin’s natural plumper. It also lowers inflammation. Healthy fats help maintain your skin’s pH and moisture levels, keeping it supple. They also protect your skin barrier from dryness, which can make lines and wrinkles look more obvious. Your body needs some dietary fat to process fat-soluble vitamins like E. Avocados give you both in one tasty package. Try them in fresh guacamole!

Salmon

Salmon offers a bounty of healthy polyunsaturated fats, notably omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s can benefit skin in many ways, like protecting against sun damage and inflammation and keeping skin plump and supple. They can even help repair damaged skin, especially damage caused from dehydration. Not getting enough fatty acids can lead to dryness and flaking. It’s also important to have the right balance of omega-3s (more of them) and omega-6s (less of them). Most omega-6s in the diet come from processed foods high in vegetable oils, a good place to cut back.

Berries

Berries are rich in antioxidants, nutrients that fight off the oxidative stress from the free radicals that can lead to skin aging, dryness, and dullness. This is thanks to a potent combo of vitamin C and phyto- or plant-based nutrients, including flavonoids called anthocyanins (the source of their deep colors) and carotenoids. Strawberries get particularly high marks for promoting skin health, followed closely by red raspberries, black raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries.

well.

Leafy Greens

Dark green leafy vegetables are powerhouses of vitamins C and K. Think kale, spinach, Swiss chard, and lettuces like arugula and romaine. They also have carotenoids, which are antioxidants that can stop damage from free radicals. Kale is particularly rich in carotenoids and vitamin C. Eating it on a regular basis may boost collagen and elastin levels for more supple skin. Because carotenoids as well as vitamin K need to be eaten with some fat for better absorption, pair greens with healthy olive oil, either as a dressing or when cooking them.

Nuts, Seeds, and Legumes

Eating a wide variety of foods from these groups is skin smart. Vitamin E supports the epidermis and dermis for firmer skin. Mono– and polyunsaturated fatty acids lower the risk of aging from sun exposure (photoaging). Other benefits include a more even skin tone, fewer wrinkles, and more elastic skin. Where to begin? Research found that one or two ounces of almonds every day decreased wrinkles and improved skin tone in middle-aged and older women. Chia and flax seeds and walnuts all have alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) – the only plant-based omega-3 fatty acid.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, one of the top carotenoids that protect skin. Lycopene is also found in some other red fruits and vegetables, including pink grapefruit, pomegranates, red bell peppers, and figs. It lessens oxidative damage, inflammation, and redness from sun exposure and boosts collagen for smoother skin. Cooked tomatoes have higher lycopene levels than raw. Studies using tomato paste as the lycopene source found that eating 40 to 55 grams (about 1.5 to 2 ounces) a day brought noticeable skin benefits. It would take about 2.5 cups of raw tomatoes to get similar results.

Dark Chocolate and Cocoa

Dark chocolate with 70% or higher cacao has many known benefits. But unsweetened cocoa is even more impressive when it comes to protecting against skin aging. It has one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants called flavanols. One study found that a daily high-quality cocoa drink can make skin more elastic and lessen roughness and wrinkle depth. Plus, drinking hot cocoa boosts blood flow in the dermis, which benefits skin health. Make your own instead of packaged mixes, which are high in sugar and low in quality cocoa. Raw cocoa powder has the most flavanols, followed by natural cocoa powder rather than Dutch-processed.

Watermelon

Watermelon is another fruit high in lycopene that helps reduce oxidative damage to the skin. It’s also a good source of vitamin C, which boosts collagen and elastin, protects against sun damage, and keeps skin hydrated. While some skin care products include vitamin C, eating vitamin C-rich foods is better than relying only on topicals. The vitamin loses its potency when processed. Another advantage of watermelon is its water content. It’s a great way to reach the daily goal of the 8 or more cups needed for moist skin.

Green Tea

Like cocoa, green tea is a great source of flavanols. A review of studies on tea flavanols, including the catechin known as EGCG, found they protect against damage from ultraviolet (UV) rays. Drinking about 4 cups a day helped combat red and rough skin and the loss of moisture and elasticity. Drinking green tea is also great for hydration.

What Is Advent

0
Dr. Joyce Rosalind Aryee, Executive Director, Salt and Light Ministries

“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” – John 1: 9

Introduction

We know Christmas is near when certain familiar signs begin to appear. Shops start decorating their entrances with bright colours, children begin practising carols for school programs, families plan their end-of-year gatherings, and radios across the country start playing our favourite Christmas songs.

From our markets to the malls, from trotro stations to offices, the air shifts—we begin to feel the season.

But in the midst of all the busyness of shopping, cooking, cleaning, travelling, office parties—it can become a challenge to remember why we celebrate Christmas in the first place. Advent invites us to pause, breathe, and prepare our hearts for the true meaning of the season: the coming of Jesus Christ, the Light of the World.

The word Advent comes from the Latin adventus, meaning “coming” or “arrival.” It is not about preparing for expenses, parties, travels, or decorations.

Advent is a spiritual preparation—a deliberate slowing down to reflect on the Christ who came to redeem us and the Christ who will come again.

The Meaning of Advent

Advent has two beautiful dimensions:

  1. Remembering Christ’s First Coming

More than two thousand years ago, God wrapped His love in human flesh and gave us the greatest gift we could ever receive—His Son, Jesus. Christmas celebrates this miracle. During Advent, we retell the story, meditate on it, and allow its wonder to refresh our faith.

  1. Anticipating Christ’s Second Coming

Advent is not just about a baby in a manger; it is also about a King who will return in glory. So when we gather around the manger, we should also journey to the foot of the cross—and beyond it—to the promise of His return. The same God who came quietly into Bethlehem will come again triumphantly for His people.

This gives us hope in a world full of economic pressures, family struggles, national challenges, and uncertainties. Advent reminds us: Christ came, Christ is present, and Christ will come again.

Embracing Advent in Our Daily Lives

Even though December can be one of the busiest months of the year, Advent encourages us to be intentional ,to pull away from the noise and rediscover the wonder of God’s love.

Here are a few reflections for this season:

  • What signals Christmas for you?
Is it the Harmattan breeze, the sound of school children rehearsing “O Come All Ye Faithful,” or seeing hampers displayed in offices? Identify these moments and let them remind you of Christ—not just celebrations.
  • Is Advent part of your tradition?
If not, this year can be the beginning. You can set aside a few minutes each evening for Scripture reading, family devotion, or quiet reflection.
  • Do you feel overwhelmed this time of the year?
Many people in Ghana feel the pressure—shopping, cooking, travelling, budgets, and planning. Advent invites you to pause. Even five quiet minutes each day can help you prepare your heart for the true celebration.

Conclusion

Advent is a sacred invitation to slow down and cherish God’s most precious gift—Jesus Christ. As we move through this season, may we remember that God laid aside His glory because of His great love for us. And may the hope of His promised return fill our hearts with joy and expectation.

May this Advent season bring you peace, clarity, and a renewed sense of God’s presence.

Stay blessed, and may the Light of Christ shine brightly in your heart this season.

1.Hark the glad sound! the Saviour comes,

The Saviour promised long ;

Let every heart prepare a throne,

And every voice & song.

  1. He comes the prisoners to release,

In Satan’s bondage held ;

The gates of brass before Him burst,

The iron fetters yield.

  1. He comes the broken heart to bind,

The bleeding soul to curo,

And with the treasures of His grace

To enrich the humble poor.

  1. Our glad hosannas, Prince of Peace,

Thy welcome shall proclaim,

And heaven’s eternal arches ring

With Thy beloved name.

Philip Doddridge, 1702-51.

Advent Prayer

Lord, may Jesus be more real to me this season than he ever has been.Open my eyes wider than ever to the beauty of the his coming.Give me ears to hear the whispers of your voice.

May your restoration continue and your Kingdom come – in my life,in my family,in my workplace,in my church,in my community,in my world – just as it is in heaven. May I live with excited anticipation throughout this season and beyond.

Grant that I would enter into the story and the blessing of the Christ child more fully each day. Amen

Stay Blessed!

Feature: OSP Debacle – Shame

Africanus Owusu Ansah (Hot Issues)

A System is corrupt when it is strictly profit-driven not driven to serve the best interest of its people. – Suzy Kassem

Was it a play (or “concert” as the Ghanaians would say? Was it a drama? Perhaps so. Dramatis personae! The Prosecutor at the Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP), affectionately called Kissi Bleoobi – Accra Academy student, who had first class in law, and winner of Bentsi-Enchill Award for Best Graduating Law Student in 2001, at Legon…

Then to Ghana School of Law, where in 2003, he again won the E.N. Sowah Memorial Award for Best Student in Family Law; LLM, Corporate Law International Law, and lecturer in Criminal Law at age 47 lawyer for controversial Anas Aremeyaw Anas, AND Martin Kpebu, the 46-year-old man whose pursuits cut across business, oil and gas law.

Martin Kpebu is on record (and often quoted) in lawyers’ applications for bail (See: Martin Kpebu v Attorney-General (2)), leading to the amendment of S 96(7) of Act 30 (The Criminal Procedure Code Amendment Act, 2002) (Act 633) and further amended by Section 41(1)(a) to the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2008 (Act 762).

A Ghanaian lawyer haranguing for a bail is likely to quote Martin Kpebu when a judge drags his feet over bail for contravening Articles 15(2) and 19(2)(c) of the Constitution 1992 — on this basis it is null and void and of no effect. (Note: Article 19(2) A person charged with a criminal offence shall (c) be presumed to be innocent until he is proved guilty or has pleaded guilty”.

Rehearsal (comedy) Martin Kpebu launches a scathing attack on Joy News:’…

The story remains that Kissi Agyebeng sat on his hands and allowed Ofori Atta to run out of this country, when Ofori Atta had five cases pending before it…

In the past, Kissi Agyebeng had worked for Ofori Atta and also Kissi Agyebeng used to work for Gabby Otchere-Darko who is related to Ofori-Atta… we are connecting the dots. Kissi Agyebeng was hand-picked because he’s close to Gabby Otchere-Darko, Godfred Dame and Akufo-Addo. He was hand-picked so that he would do their bidding. He wasn’t picked as an independent person.

Martin Amidu was the one who was picked as an independent person and see how Martin Amidu stung Akufo-Addo as mother serpent of corruption. So, Akufo-Addo said “no, henceforth I’ll pick somebody who will play ball with me.”

Stage One: OSP invites Martin Kpebu, Terse language:

“The Office of Special Prosecutor invites Martin Kpebu and TV3 over allegations of corruption” and that the OSP looked away while Ken Ofori-Atta left the country”. Martin Kpebu had criticized OSP’s action on Ken Ofori-Atta and the SML contract as insufficient and belated; Martin Kpebu charged: ‘OSP is fooling the public”

Stage Two: A female officer at OSP…When I was walking into the premises of the office, I noticed there was an interview being conducted by some guy from the media with Mr. Kpebu… Right at the gate, the men let him  (Martin) know that any time he comes to the office, once he parks, he’s supposed to go straight to do his business… Kpebu’s response was that he can do what he wants; they can’t tell him what to do… it’s escalating to insults. There was the F-word being used. There were other ones…”

Stage 3: There were exchanges of words; security at the OSP sought to show Martin “where power lies.” So, Martin gets handcuffed! Who will be happy with this? Did Kissi guess that a trap had been set and he fell into it?

In a country which had been turned into a den of thieves (without any apology to anyone), what do you expect an “Ankwanoma” to do? To run a public office and go home penniless, like some of us? People, including your own relations, would simply say “You are not smart”. So, you are urged to steal, steal and steal, and you have to go the distance with the stealers; they call it corruption: ingrained corruption.

We said (Lawyer Marshall and other classmates in Kumasi) said it: Kissi is too young for this office; he appeared not to have the clout or “thick’’ skin of Gyeke-Darko, the DPP who taught us Criminal Law or D.F. Annang, also DPP. And if the office was an “easy” one, why would Martin Amidu, the first holder resign? The corrupt ones, nay, the thieves as Jantuah would call them, would have links to the Presidency; Nana Addo, Asante Bediatuo, Gabby Otchere-Darko and their appendages… and these would not give you space to do your work satisfactorily plan interference.

The good old Professor Mike Oquaye steps in? Late in the night of Martin’s arrest (we were monitoring closely), Prof. Mike Oquaye was livid on TV3: “…the Special Prosecutor did not even have any business inviting Mr. Kpebu there. If Mr. Kpebu says you are corrupt, you can sue him or you can refer him to another agency if there is a crime to look into that because your business is to investigate corruption… Is Mr. Kpebu…being charged with corruption? “…we must not just mix things up because we want peace in this country… People are abusing power everywhere. We don’t strengthen our institutions, we just proliferate institutions. Instead of making the Attorney General’s Department very strong to prosecute, we create something else… we get confused in the process… all well-meaning Ghanaians must really condemn it (Martin Kpebu’s arrest and asking for landed property in his name as guarantee for bail).”

Kissi has had a chequered life on the OSP seat.

Kennedy Agyapong, the NPP Presidential hopeful has not spared him: “an ugly species with faulty set of teeth, village boy, stupid, a beast, a lawyer who defends criminals (should lawyers regard alleged criminals as ‘pariahs’?)”

Stage 4: In Parliament on 4th December, the Chief Whip, Dafeamkpor, was upbeat about the scrapping of the OSP — or is it only the head (Kissi)? Mahama Ayariga’s “firm decision” added his voice, “for emphasis”, the office has had no achievement of that office… reconsider to abolish it… why do we establish an entity out of the functions of the A-G and resource them more than the A-G and even after doing that, it has still not delivered.” The Speaker, Alban Bagbin, added his voice: “…we cannot continue to allocate that huge sum to the same office when we are not getting the results.”

The Speaker had on the floor of Parliament challenged “the constitutional basis” for the establishment of the office…

Should the OSP (the office, not the persona of Kissi) remain; who will be appointed to head this “haunted” place? As for our friend Kissi, he has “seen it all.” No one can advise him to resign or not – with all the brouhaha, the insults, the assassination attempts…

So, NIB, EOCO, the abolished Serious Fraud Office, the Attorney General’s Office (Criminal & Prosecutions) were all resourced (less than OSP?).

OSP (the office) may have on its platform the key achievements; prevented losses  of GH¢6.5b; concluded high profile investigations (Airbus, Cecilia Dapaah); securing initial convictions; suspended illicit transactions worth over GH₵6.42b; ongoing investigations into significant cases including SML/ARA contracts, appropriation of state lands.

What about the PDS deal? What about Dr Mustapha Hamid’s NPA deal? Walahi, this country must be saved! Then many filling stations, many estate houses? Were these signs of saving the country?.

What about the $65m National Cathedral which was initially supposed to be privately funded? Where is Ofori-Atta?

Rwanda on our mind: order, discipline, respect — a country devastated by civil war, now a “model” for us to learn from!

Weekend Ghana Premier League Match Day 14 Previews & Fixtures

0
Elvis Kyei Baffuor, Asante Kotoko

Round 14 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League kicks off today, with fans eagerly anticipating how their teams will perform as the season approaches its apex. Every match now carries significant weight, with the point gap between the top-half teams remaining narrow. A single mistake could see a team slip down the table, while those in the bottom half and relegation zone continue to fight desperately for survival.

Below are some of the match day 14 fixtures

Hearts of Oak welcome Nations FC

Hearts of Oak welcome Nations FC to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in a crucial Match week 14 encounter, with both sides keen on climbing further up the league table after inconsistent starts to the campaign.

Mawuli Wayo, Hearts of Oak

The Phobians sit 7th with 21 points from 5 wins, 6 draws, and 2 defeats. They boast one of the league’s strongest defenses, conceding only six goals, but their inability to turn draws into wins has prevented them from breaking into the top four. Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani will be demanding more attacking sharpness, especially at home.

Nations FC, meanwhile, occupy 11th place with 16 points from 4 wins, 4 draws, and 5 losses. Their 12 goals scored and 13 conceded reflect a balanced yet unpredictable team. Their recent results highlight the inconsistency that has kept them in mid-table.

The fixture has become increasingly competitive in recent years. In their last four meetings, each team has won once, with the remaining two ending in draws. Nations FC edged Hearts 1–0 in their most recent encounter in April 2025, while Hearts’ last win came in May 2024. Goals have been scarce between the sides, with none of the last four matches producing more than two.

Hearts will rely on their strong home form and disciplined backline to control the tempo and break down a Nations FC side dangerous on the counter. Nations FC, however, will draw confidence from recent success in Accra and their ability to frustrate the Phobians.

A tight, tactical contest is expected one likely to be decided by a moment of brilliance or a costly defensive lapse.

Heart of Lions, Aduana FC face off

Heart of Lions host Aduana in one of the standout fixtures of Match week 14, as two top-four contenders battle in Kpando with only three points separating them.

Lions enter the match in 3rd place with 23 points from 6 wins, 5 draws, and 2 losses. With just nine goals conceded all season, they remain one of the league’s best defensive sides. Their recent form suggests steady momentum, and their strong home record gives them confidence heading into the contest.

Etse Dogli, Heart of Lions

Aduana sit second  with 24 points after 7 wins, 3 draws, and 3 defeats. They have been solid both home and away, scoring 13 and conceding just 7. Although their recent form has been mixed, they remain a resilient and dangerous team capable of grinding out tough results.

The head-to-head history between the two clubs is evenly balanced. Their last six meetings have produced three wins apiece. Lions won their most recent encounter 2–1 in January 2025, a result that will boost their morale, though Aduana have also enjoyed success in Kpando in past seasons.

Kwaku Musah, Hoehoe United

With both sides known for their discipline, organization, and ability to win close matches, this fixture is likely to be decided by fine margins set pieces, defensive errors, or a moment of individual brilliance. With only a point between them and both chasing leaders Medeama, fans can expect a fiercely contested and high-energy battle.

Asante Kotoko host Dreams FC

Asante Kotoko welcome Dreams FC to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a matchup that carries major implications for both sides as they look to stabilize their campaigns after mixed starts to the season.

Kotoko sit 5th with 21 points from 5 wins, 6 draws, and 2 losses. With 14 goals scored and 9 conceded, the Porcupine Warriors have displayed strong defensive organization, but have struggled with consistency in attack. Their recent performances show a team still searching for rhythm, though their latest win suggests improvement.

Fatawu Sulemana, Medeama SC

Dreams FC come into the week in 14th place with 14 points from 4 wins, 2 draws, and 7 defeats. Their 13 goals scored and 15 conceded reflect a team capable of creating chances, but prone to defensive lapses. Their recent results show unpredictability, making them equally dangerous and vulnerable.

The recent head-to-head record is surprisingly balanced: in their last five meetings, both sides have two wins each, with one draw. Kotoko’s emphatic 4–1 victory in May 2025 showcased their attacking potential when everything clicks. However, Dreams have caused them problems before, including a 1–0 win at Baba Yara in November 2023 and a 2–0 victory at home in April 2024.

Kotoko will hope to leverage their home advantage and strong support to build momentum and stay close to the top four. Dreams, however, will be motivated by past success in Kumasi and their desire to move away from the relegation zone.

This clash promises intensity, tactical depth, and attacking intent, with the outcome likely determined by either a decisive error or a flash of brilliance.
