Dr. Louisa Ansong Setekla, wife of Afro-Dance Hall Artiste, Stonebwoy has opened up on what got her to marry the ‘Sobolo’ hitmaker at age 25.

Answering a question from Berla Mundi on the reason for her early marriage to the Artiste, the Dentist said; “I think life is not a linear process where you have to wait to accomplish this and have a 100% success in it before moving on to the next thing. If it happens and you think is its right and you have the support of your family; I think you should go for it.”

Praising her husband for his support, particularly during her school days at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), she said the husband insisted that she covers enough pages of her courses when she is up and studying.

His willingness to assist her further confirmed to her that she had made the right choice in choosing him as her life partner.

Dr. Louisa and Stonebwoy have on several occasions showcased their respect and understanding for each other. Age was not a barrier for them, as they recognized their compatibility and decided to embark on their marital journey when the time felt right.

Stonebowy and wife, Dr. Louisa married in 2017. They have two children, L Janam Joachim Satekla, Catherine JidulaSatekla.

You are not a man if women don’t fight over you – Ajagurajah

Bishop Ajagurajah

Bishop Ajagurajah, a controversial man of God and the founder and leader of the Ajagurajah organization, has said that men are not sufficiently masculine if they do not have women fighting for their love and attention.

During a panel discussion on UTV, he asserted that males demonstrate their dominance by the number of women who vie for their attention.

Ajagurajah emphasized the value of polygamy and the reasons why men ought to have numerous wives.

If you have several wives and one starts acting inappropriately, the others will step in to cover for you.

“Imagine have three wives and one of them starts giving you attitude, you have two more to fall back on. The Bible isn’t against polygamy. All the prophets in the Bible had multiple women.” Ajagurah stated.

MzGee fires shots at those comparing her to Nana Ama McBrown

MzGee

MzGee has had enough of the comparisons to Nana Ama McBrown so she’s coughing it off her chest.

The TV presenter has replaced the actress as the host of UTV’s United showbiz show and some fans have since been comparing her to the former host of the show. According to MzGee, she prefers to herself than an imitation of someone else.

She bared her teeth at her critics via a social media post in which she said: “I’d rather fail in originality than become a clone of another! I didn’t get here as a carbon copy of anyone yet I made a name as one of the most revered in the space!“.

Telling why she’s fit for the job, Mzgee who previously worked at Media General and Multimedia, continued that “so after all these feats, why do you think I want to or I’d prefer to become an imitation? Ebi the work wey I know, ebi the work I go do, forget the razzmatazz, it’s not my style to indulge in frivolities”.

Yes, I’ll learn to better at every challenge (I know you want to see me fail badly but you forget it is God that ordains Kings) I’ll do me as always, at my own pace and in my own unique style. I’m sorry if that offends you!,” she concluded.

GHAMRO to sue Akosua Agyapong

Akosua Agyapong

The Ghana Music Rights Organisation(GHAMRO) is lacing its boots to drag Akosua Agyapong to court for spreading false rumours against the organisation.

Diana Hopeson, who is a GHAMRO board member disclosed this in a radio interview with Rainbow Entertainment.

Diana Hopeson said that the allegations by other GHAMRO members particularly Akosua Agyapong has contributed to the current woes of the delay of its license to operate.

“Aside from that, some members who continue to spread false rumours about the organisation will continue to make false claims. Some of them, notably Akosua Agyapong, advise businesses not to pay royalties.

“It demonstrates her aversion to GHAMRO. She is the greatest person to explain to you what she is doing and why she is doing it. GHAMRO is prepared to go to court this time because whatever she is doing is impacting GHAMRO,” she added.

Akosua Agyapong “keeps spreading false rumours that we are operating illegally, so we are prepared to take her on legally. She wants to be in charge; therefore, she is on a mission to ruin us, but when elections come around, she does not file to run,” Diana Hopeson added.

“She is also aware that what she does disqualifies her because our laws state that dragging the name of the organisation through the dirt may result in a penalty, which is why she rarely files.

We have repeatedly requested that she appear before us to reply to matters, but she has failed to do so. Unfortunately, she is not interested in the organisation’s success,” she said.

Akosua Agyapong has called on Attorney General to close down GHAMRO, claiming that the operations of the interim management committee were illegal.

According to Akosua Agyapong, the interim management committee with Rex Omar as Chairman was working illegally as their mandate was not backed by any law.

The veteran singer out that the office of the Attorney General hadn’t renewed GHAMRO’s licence so those at the helm of affairs had no business running the organisation.

French court hands down jail terms to attackers of first lady’s relative

France first lady Brigitte Macron

A French court on Monday sentenced two men to jail after convicting them on charges of beating up the great-nephew of France’s first lady Brigitte Macron last month outside her family’s chocolate shop.

The court in the northern city of Amiens sentenced one of the accused to 12 months in prison and the second to 15 months for the attack on Jean-Baptiste Trogneux. A third defendant was acquitted.

The attack on Trogneux was widely condemned by French politicians, including President Emmanuel Macron who called it “unacceptable,” while pointing the finger at his opponents, whose “verbal violence” he suggested had encouraged the assault.

The attack on Trogneux in Amiens on 15 May came on the sidelines of an unsanctioned demonstration against the government’s pension reform, which the president signed into law without a parliamentary vote.

The three suspects, aged 20, 22 and 34, were originally to be tried in a fast-track process two days after the attack, but their lawyers asked for more time to prepare a defence.

Haiti earthquake

At least three people have been killed in an earthquake in the Haitian city of Jérémie, just days after floods left at least 42 dead. The 4.9-magnitude quake struck in the early hours of the morning, the US Geological Survey said.

It came in the wake of torrential rains that have displaced more than 13,000.

Prime Minister Ariel Henry said his government and international partners were taking “urgent measures” to deal with the flooding.

The World Food Programme, an agency of the United Nations, said that it would start providing hot meals to the displaced.

Haitian authorities said the three people who died were crushed when their home collapsed. More than a dozen people have also been injured.

Jérémie is a coastal city in the southwestern Grand’Anse department. Two years ago, the region was also badly hit by an earthquake which killed more than 2,200 people.

Prince Harry gives testimony in historic courtroom battle against British media

Prince Harry is shown giving evidence in a courtroom sketch

Prince Harry became the first senior British royal to give evidence on a witness stand in 132 years, as his bitter fight against the UK’s tabloid press came to a head in tense courtroom showdown on Tuesday.

Harry answered questions in a measured, almost hushed tone. He appeared nervous at first, and was at one point asked to raise his voice. The duke is suing a big British newspaper group, Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), alleging the publisher’s journalists hacked his phone and used other illicit means to gather information about his life between 1996 and 2009.

He faced forensic and detailed questioning from MGN’s lawyer, Andrew Green, who probed him on the specifics of his claims and occasionally left him scrambling to recall sections of his written statement or find pieces of evidence.

But after a nervous start that exposed gaps in Harry’s knowledge regarding the minutiae of the case, the prince increasingly asserted himself – clashing at times with the publisher’s lawyer as they dissected reams of press coverage about his childhood, his school years and his relationships.

Hundreds flee floods after Ukraine dam breached

Nova Kakhovka dam breached

Hundreds of people have been evacuated from settlements along the southern stretch of Ukraine’s Dnipro River after water burst through the breached Nova Kakhovka dam, submerging streets and town squares.

The collapse of the structure at the southern tip of the vast Kakhovka Reservoir on Tuesday unleashed a torrent of water, adding to the misery of thousands of people who have been caught on the front lines of the war between Ukraine and Russia.

Kyiv accused Russian forces of blowing up the dam and hydroelectric power station in an area of southern Ukraine that Moscow has controlled for more than a year while Russian officials blamed Ukrainian bombardment. It was not possible to verify the claims.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the dam breach is the “biggest man-made environmental disaster in Europe in decades”.

Footage posted on social media shows severe flooding in the Russian-controlled town of Nova Kakhovka, which is next to the dam.

UK orders China to close ‘secret police stations’ on British soil

British Minister of State for Security Tom Tugendhat

The UK government has ordered China to shut down secret police stations operating on British soil, Security Minister Tom Tugendhat says in a written statement to parliament.

Britain has previously said reports of undeclared police stations in the country were “extremely concerning” and that any intimidation on British soil of foreign nationals by China or other states was unacceptable.

British police have investigated claims made by the non-governmental human rights organisation Safeguard Defenders that such police stations were operating at three British sites, Tugendhat said on Tuesday.

“I can confirm that they have not, to date, identified any evidence of illegal activity on behalf of the Chinese state across these sites,” he said.

“We assess that police and public scrutiny have had a suppressive impact on any administrative functions these sites may have had.”

US federal agents arrested two New York residents in April for allegedly operating a secret Chinese police station in the Chinatown district of Manhattan.

The British government has said it was aware of about 100 such stations around the world.

Iran’s claims to have created hypersonic missile alarm Israel

0
Iran Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Amir Hatami

Iran has alarmed Israel by unveiling what it claims is its first domestically made hypersonic missile. It had previously said it would be able to hit Israel within 400 seconds.

The Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi, attended the unveiling of the missile, named Fattah, or “conqueror” in Farsi. It is claimed to have a range of 870 miles (1,400km), to be able to travel at up to 15 times the speed of sound and to bypass air defence systems.

Hypersonic missiles can fly at least at Mach 5 – five times the speed of sound – and their speed and claimed manoeuvrability is believed to make them difficult to intercept. Only four other countries claim to have them in their arsenals.

Iran said in November it was on the way to building a hypersonic ballistic missile that could manoeuvre in and out of the atmosphere. “It can bypass the most advanced anti-ballistic missile systems of the US and the Zionist regime, including Israel’s Iron Dome,” Iran’s state TV said.

Raisi claimed in a segment on Iranian state TV unveiling the Fattah that it was a deterrent that would be “a point of security and stable peace” for the region.
