Accra Lions roar louder against Heart of Lions

Accra Lions return to winning ways with an impressive performance to beat Heart of Lions 2-1.

First-half goals from Ali Mohammed and Daniel Awuni were enough for the host to collect all three points, despite a second-half consolation from Christian Agyemang.

Accra Lions got off to a bright start after Bernard Kesse came close to giving them the lead following a neatly weaved pass from Baba Apiiga.

Two minutes later, Accra Lions were rewarded a freekick at the edge of the box, which was taken by Apiiga, with Hearts of Lions goalkeeper failing to grab it for the first time as Mohammed fired home for the opener after 12 minutes.

The home side doubled their advantage after a brilliant inter-play between Awuni and Kesse resulted in the winger clinically putting the ball at the back of the net.

Awuni almost made it three before half-time but his strike from outside the box went wide.

After the break, the visitors improved their game as they chased a consolation but it was the host that got the better chances with defender Ali Mohammed and second-half substitute Mohammed Yahaya coming close.

Heart of Lions pulled one back from Christian Agyemang with 15 minutes remaining.

Nsoatreman returned to the summit by defeating Asante Kotoko 1-0 in Nsuatre in a closely watched Ghana Premier League encounter.

The great performance, orchestrated by former Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu, secured all three points for Nsoatreman and solidified their strong start to the season.

Nsoatreman now lead the league table, with a one-point advantage over second-placed Aduana FC and a game in hand.

For Kotoko, who entered the match seeking their first win since October 13, when they beat Aduana at home, overcoming Nsoatreman proved challenging.

Coach Prosper Ogum’s side struggled even more when they were reduced to 10 men just before half-time. Defender Henry Ansu received his second yellow card and was sent off, leaving Nsoatreman in control in front of their home fans.

The decisive goal was scored by forward Stephen Diyou in the 41st minute. Despite Kotoko’s protests claiming an offside position, the goal stood.

Alan Cash Ready For 2024 … New posters surface in Ashanti, Greater Accra regions

0
Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen

The Ghanaian political landscape appears to have been electrified with the sudden appearance of new posters featuring Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, an independent presidential candidate, for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Particularly prominent in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions, these posters, according to his campaign managers, are testament to the growing strength of the ‘Movement for Change,’ a political vehicle initiated by the former Trade and Industry Minister, following his resignation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Amidst a backdrop of disenchantment and disillusionment with traditional political parties, the emergence of Alan Kyerematen’s ‘Movement for Change’, according to the campaign team, has captured the attention of Ghanaians, who have expressed their disappointment in the long-standing polarisation between the two dominant political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and NPP.

Many citizens have voiced their disinterest in politics, citing a lack of substantial change and progress under the leadership of these parties.
Alan Kyerematen’s decision to step away from the NPP and establish the ‘Movement for Change’ has garnered widespread attention, signifying a pivotal moment in Ghana’s political landscape.

This move has galvanised his supporters, who view him as a transformative leader capable of steering the nation towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
During the “big announcement”, when he indicated his willingness to contest the 2024 general election as an independent presidential candidate, Alan Kyerematen emphasised the significance of his ‘Great Transformational Plan’ (GTP) in lifting Ghana’s fortunes, fostering sustained economic growth and nurturing prosperity across the country.

With his political experience and expertise in industrialisation, Kyerematen’s candidacy, his campaign team argued, received resounding endorsements from various political stalwarts within the NPP and beyond.

Momentum

The momentum of Alan Kyerematen’s political journey was recently underscored by the ‘Aduru Wo So Health Walk’, held first in Kumasi in May 2023, followed by the vibrant Accra edition, about a month later.

In both cities, thousands of enthusiastic NPP supporters thronged the streets to demonstrate their unwavering support for Kyerematen as their preferred flagbearer hopeful.

Chants and energetic displays of NPP solidarity filled the air, as supporters brandished placards highlighting Kyerematen’s vision for the nation’s progress.

“As the ‘Movement For Change’ continues to gain momentum, Alan Kyerematen’s unwavering commitment to fostering unity and fostering a transformative vision for Ghana remains at the forefront, captivating the hearts and minds of Ghanaians from all walks of life.”, one of his spokesmen told The Chronicle.

NMC declares ‘war’ on money doublers

0
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister for Information

The Nation Media Commission (NMC) and the National Communication Authority (NCA) have taken decisive measures to crack down on money doublers, Ritualists and Charlatans infiltrating Ghana’s airwaves.

This initiative, as part of a comprehensive effort to sanitise broadcasting content in the country, was announced on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
At the heart of this initiative lies the establishment of the Broadcasting Monitoring Center, a specialised center tasked with regulating offensive media content.

In addition, a toll-free number has been activated, enabling vigilant media consumers to report egregious media content promptly.
Speaking at the launch of the Centre, the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah lauded the collaborative efforts of the NMC and the NCA in establishing the center.

He commended their efficient use of national resources, emphasising the importance of striking a balance between regulatory functions and the right to free expression.
“First, I want to congratulate both the NMC for NCA for this collaboration. It is an efficient use of the scarce national resources that we have.

“In many places, you see an attempt to duplicate but you have collaborated and you’re saving all of us some money and I want to congratulate you for that,” the Minister said.
Mr. Joe Anokye, the Chief Executive Officer of the NCA, on his part expressed his delight at the establishment of the state-of-art-center.

He said the center, the first of its kind in the sub-region will go a long way to help regulators monitor and quickly clamp down on offensive media content, which has been on the rise for some time now.

Mr. Boadu-Ayeboafoh, Chairman of the NMC, also said it became prudent on the back of the increasing spate of egregious broadcasting contents to have in place standards and that is what the NCA and NMC sought to do by establishing the Monitoring Center.

Background
The NMC and NCA decision to combat the broadcast of egregious contents within the media space was the outcome of a significant stakeholders’ consultative meeting held in 2021.

During the said meeting, there was unanimous agreement that regulatory action was imperative, considering the escalating proliferation of dubious individuals on the airwaves.
Present at the launch were Executive Secretary of the NMC, George Sarpong and President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour.

Representatives from various media umbrella bodies also attended.

I’ll win on Saturday –Akoto

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto

A flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, has said that rising wave of support which his campaign message is attracting to NPP delegates in the final days, leaves him in no doubt that he will win the upcoming NPP presidential elections.

The massive wave is such that the worst outcome will be to push the entire race into a second round.

According to him, the new wave of support blowing across the entire UP fraternity suggests that dissemination of his message for the Party has now gathered speed and that most of the delegates are now convinced that he has the formula to raise morale amongst the grassroots to fight for victory in Dec 2024

Addressing a cross-section of the media in Accra at his Ridge campaign office to wrap-up his campaign, Dr. Akoto, a former Minister of Food and Agriculture said this recent rapid mood change among delegates in favor of Dr. Akoto has been observed by both his team and independent observers.

“In the past few weeks, my field visits have clearly shown a ‘wave’ sweeping through the support that I enjoy among delegates across the country. This is confirmed both by our monitoring teams and independent research.

“These fast-emerging trends in the mood of the electorates encourage me to make a passionate appeal to the undecided voters to make up their minds firmly to vote for Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto on Saturday”, he noted.

In terms of the Party, Dr. Akoto’s vision is inspired by the liberal philosophy of the Founding Fathers of the UP tradition, a tradition that his father, Baffour Osei Akoto, was a founder of.

A central part of his vision for the Party is to establish Party-owned businesses that will create employment opportunities for the Party activists and generate funds to support the Party.  He told the media that the establishment of these Party-owned businesses is premised on the ANC model in South Africa.

“My vision for the nation is by now well-known to all Ghanaians. It is to give priority to agriculture in the allocation of public resources to support both small and large-scale famers to generate the needed resources to fund our economic development”, he emphasised.

To this end, he has urged the delegates to look beyond any tempting one-off monetary enticement and think about the future of the Party for the sake of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
“Delegates, stand with me on the side of the great UP tradition of our forefathers”, he underscored.

“My appeal at this late stage is that you delegates should not be tempted by offers which may provide a one-day relief and leave our Party in the sand. Think of our history, our traditions and past victories and the great sacrifices of our forefathers and vote Akoto”, he noted.

The NPP goes to the polls on Saturday, November 4, 2023, to select a presidential candidate who will lead the party to the 2024 general elections.

Dr. Akoto is number 3 on the ballot paper. He placed 4th in the Super Delegates Conference held on August 26, 2023.
Over 210,000 delegates are expected to vote in the National Delegates Conference on November 4, 2023.

Margins Group CEO is the iconic Manufacturing Personality of the Decade

0
Mr Moses K. Baiden, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Margins Group

Moses Kwesi Baiden Jnr., Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Intelligent Card Production Systems (ICPS), a subsidiary of Margins ID Group, has been awarded as one of the Top Iconic Manufacturing Personalities of the Decade by the Entrepreneur Foundation of Ghana.

The presentation ceremony, which took place at the Margins ID Group Head Office, celebrated Mr. Baiden’s outstanding achievements and remarkable efforts in the manufacturing sector.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Baiden expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the outstanding team at ICPS and the board of directors. “Receiving this award is not just a personal achievement, but a recognition of the hard work put in by the great people at ICPS and Margins ID Group. I thank the board for their leadership. They’ve shown this is not the effort of one man, it’s the effort of a team of very determined leaders,” he added.

He also acknowledged his over 25-year partnership with Mr. Peter Blom, the progressive chairman of ICPS, who has been a pivotal figure in the challenging journey of establishing a high-tech card manufacturing facility in Ghana.

Reflecting on the award, Mr. Baiden realised that he is the only native Ghanaian among the top ten awardees; people who may be legally Ghanaian and even hold Ghanaian passports but are not of Ghanaian descent.

He, therefore, emphasized the importance of fostering local manufacturing and innovation to strengthen Ghana’s economy. He also expressed his disappointment at the lack of support for Ghanaian companies companies like ICPS, which can produce high-quality products and services.

“From 2007 to 2023, ICPS has been producing different variations of the Ghana Card, the first secure National ID Card to be produced on African soil. It saddens me that people have been calling for cards to be imported from other countries when we have the best card and document manufacturing facility in the world, right here in Ghana,” he bemoaned.

Elangovan Sukumaran, the card production manager at ICPS who witnessed the ceremony, underlined the factory’s unique combination of security certifications, including Visa, MasterCard, Intergraf, and ISO standards, further cementing their reputation as a top-tier card manufacturer.

“We are so proud to be recognized as one of the security card manufacturing companies in Ghana. This is the only factory in the whole of Africa that has a combination of product security certifications like Visa, MasterCard, ISO, and Intergraf at the central banking level. We aim to produce more sophisticated cards, adopt upcoming technology, and showcase Ghana as a leader in card technology,” he said.

Ato Gaise, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Entrepreneur Foundation of Ghana, commended Moses Baiden for his remarkable journey from humble beginnings to becoming a key figure in the manufacturing of the Ghana card. He noted that the Ghana card has become an essential part of life in the country, further underscoring the significance of Mr Baiden’s work.

“I was driving by your Ringway office one day with a friend, and I asked, ‘Have you seen this place? This is where Margins Group began.’ To put it succinctly, when you reflect on where you began and where you are today, it how much you have grown as a company and the enormous impact you have made, especially with the manufacturing of Ghana Card; a product as valuable as gold. Taking all of these factors into account, my team and I reached an agreement that honouring you is well-deserved,” he noted.

This award not only celebrates Moses Baiden’s personal achievements but also highlights the importance of fostering local manufacturing and innovation to strengthen Ghana’s economy. It reaffirms that with dedication and hard work, Ghana can continue to achieve greatness in the field of manufacturing.

Minority threatens showdown with gov’t over Budget if …

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minority Leader

The Members of Parliament (MPs) belonging to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have warned the government that they would oppose the 2024 Budget Statement and Economic Policy if it does not prioritise the welfare of citizenry and address concerns of businesses in the country.

According to the group, it was incumbent on the government to provide some well-thought through policies, which implementation would bring some relief to the citizenry, considering the hardships they were going through.

To the group, the economic challenges confronting Ghana had got to a state where the people could no more bear it, spurring the migration of the youth in droves to seek greener pastures abroad.

The group leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, in his remarks on the floor of Parliament on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, to welcome the MPs back to the Third Meeting of the Third Session of the Eight Parliament of the Fourth Republic, signalled that they would have no option than to resist the approval of the 2024 Budget.

“The prevailing economic conditions have already made it very difficult for the ordinary Ghanaian and businesses and, therefore, we can’t be a party to any policy or measure, which make things even more unbearable for the already suffering Ghanaian and businesses.

Mr. Speaker, let me be blunt; the upcoming budget statement will encounter resistance if it does not prioritise the needs of people and businesses. That is our bottom-line. So, if the government knows that its upcoming budget does not prioritize the needs of the people, then they should get ready for a showdown,” he noted.

He added: “We are tired of seeing many young professionals leave our shores in droves because they find no opportunities in our dear country as a result of the harsh Economic Condition, poor governance and corruption.

“Mr. Speaker, the position taken by the Minority Caucus is not intended to frustrate the government; far from that. We have taken the position to be on the side of the people of Ghana as we have done in the life of this Parliament.”

He assured that the group will continue to scrutinize the upcoming Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government with eagle eyes just like what they’ve been doing every year to ensure that Ghanaians get the best from the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government.

The presentation of the 2024 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the government is slated for November 15, 2023, and would be delivered by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, on behalf of the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

German Chancellor hails Ghana for her commitment to peace

President Akufo-Addo and Olaf Scholz (left), German Chancellor departing the KAIPTC after a meeting.

The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has praised Ghana for its commitment towards peace in Africa and the world.

According to the Chancellor, the nation’s commitment to peace and democratic stability, indeed, made her “a beacon of hope for the region.”

Olaf Scholz said this on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, on his visit to the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) as part of his two-day tour of Ghana.

His address touched on security in the region and activities at the United Nations, calling for some reforms.

President Akufo-Ado and Olaf Scholz, German Chancellor proposing a toast at the lunch at Jubilee House.

Referring to a statement by Kofi Annan on the relationship between good governance, democratic participation, and peace, Scholz said a good way to avoid conflicts was to encourage inclusive democracy, which gave everyone a say in the things that affect their lives.

“That is why it was so important that ECOWAS called on the military government in Mali, Guinea, and Burkina Faso to restore democratic order. At the same time, this is why Ghana is such a beacon of hope for the region and such a close partner to us,” he remarked.

The German Chancellor continued that Ghana’s democratic stability had been firmly rooted in the democratic tradition and governance guided by the rule of law.

COOPERATION

He indicated that it was important to have highly trained security personnel and apparatus to fight terrorism, and so was regional cooperation.

He observed that lack of cooperation was one of the concerning repercussions of the series of coups between states in the Sahel, and those of the Gulf of Guinea.

Against that background, he commended the Accra Initiative, which, he said, would help share ideas among countries in the region to fight terrorism, adding that Germany was ready to support that.

APPRECIATION

The President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said in his brief remarks that the years of cooperation between Ghana and Germany culminated in the establishment of the KAIPTC in 2004.

According to the President, evaluating the contribution of the Centre, supporting it was something that ought to emanate from the government naturally, thus his administration’s assistance.

President Akufo-Addo informed his counterpart, Scholz, that peace was the bedrock of progress, citing the demands of the Sustainable Development Goal 16.

He cited the Africa SDGs index and dashboards report that said countries in Africa lagging behind in the implementation of Goal 16 were those experiencing conflicts.

He acknowledged that regardless of sustainable progress made in curbing conflicts on the continent, some countries were still grappling with triple threats of humanitarian, development, and security threats.

“It is for this reason that, on behalf of the people and government of Ghana, I express my sincere appreciation to the people and government of Germany for the many years of support they continue to offer the centre, President Akufo-Addo concluded his speech.

On behalf of the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, Leonardo Santos Simão, the Resident Coordinator, Charles Abani, commended the Ghana-German partnership.

“The partnership between Ghana and Germany continues to be of immense support to the multilateral system, which underpins the UN’s work and is critical for international peace, sustainable development, and stability,” he said.

Why the NDC is scared of who picks the Flag

0
Opinion

Saturday November 4, 2023, will determine who will pick the flag of the New Patriotic Party and lead the party into battle to break-the-eight in the 2024 General Elections which is slated for Saturday, December 7, 2024.

A tough five-man race was reduced to four when frontliner Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen dropped out and left the NPP to contest as an independent candidate.

The four remaining giants are Addai-Nimo, Agyapong, Akoto and Bawumia and the attacking comments on these coming from the NDC, underline a spirit of fear in that party.

Francis Addai-Nimo: A rather quiet and gentle fellow, who is determined to present a new face on the 2024 ballot. There is nothing much on him from the NDC even though in August 2016, he had attacked the opposition party of being the cause of Ghana’s economic woes after been in control of the country for twenty-seven years, from the PNDC to the NDC.

It is very obvious that what he said was true and the NDC could not find themselves defending it. Such a fellow could certainly take Ghana to the skies, when elected president, because he identifies problems and can come out with solutions.

Kennedy Agyapong: A fire-brand and no-nonsense fellow, which is also the type needed to quickly react to issues and even throw away friendship and relationship and deal with the wrong-doers. Such a fellow does not ‘tuu-sebi. Considering the way things have been going on in this country, with corruption, irresponsibility, mismanagement and other vices reining high, Kennedy is the one much needed to whip people in line.

Recently, the NDC came out saying Kennedy Agyapong will introduce lawlessness when he becomes president. This is one point which shows the fear for Kennedy. For Kennedy is a slight reflection of the Rawlings the PNDC/NDC produced and presented to Ghana as head-of-state. Who can be said to be more lawless a leader we ever had in this country, than Jerry John Rawlings?

He who beat up his vice during cabinet meeting, he who overturns vehicles in the street, he who could come out of closed-door meetings with other presidents and tell the whole world how he blasted some of his colleagues, he who could order that a parish priest of Christ the King Catholic Church be disciplined because he heard noises coming out from the nearby church when he was making a speech doing an anniversary celebration of his revolution at the Revolution Square.

I suspect that the NDC members are feeling jittery, just imagining how they will live under a Rawlings figure again. Yes, Rawlings could whip the party members in line and discipline them. This is what they do not want to live through again. With Kennedy Agyapong as president, woe betides anyone who drops down his guard.

Afriyie Akoto: One thing that has directly hit the opposition NDC in the face and dislodged the thinking of its members is this Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ). This project, masterminded by this agriculturist/politician, has proven that food production can become a fortune earner for the poor farmer and food can become very cheap for the ordinary Ghanaian.

Readers, ignore the high cost of foodstuffs in the capital. Only last Monday, I placed an order for yams and fish from Ejura and paid GH¢50.00 to Accra. I had nine very big tubers of yam for GH¢100.00. Selling on the streets of Accra, smaller tubers of yam are going for GH¢20.00 – GH¢25.00 each.

Assuming the transportation cost of my yams was GH¢ 25.00, then the starting price for each tuber, which is almost one and a half times the size of those being sold on the streets of Accra, will be less than GH¢ 14.00.

A God-fearing former NDC MP for Ejura-Sekyere-Dumase, Alhaji Mohammed Issifu Pangadu, who greatly benefited from the PFJ, came out to give glowing testimonies. The NDC made him take a sacred oath of silence, never to talk in public again, especially on matters concerning farming.

The NDC knows that it will be doomed if Afriyie Akoto becomes president, because the poor farmer are always deceives, and will see the light of salvation and abandon the party.

Mahamudu Bawumia: This is one person the NDC will never want to be president. In short, he is much disliked by the opposition party for many reasons. One was the fact that immediately after becoming vice president, BoG governor Addison, halted a deal with Sibton Switch which would have made the NDC steal over $1.1 billion from the state, even when in opposition. Bawumia came along and got the deal through with a more superior company at only $45 million, clearly exposing the NDC on its gross and reckless corrupt practices.

As for calling Bawumia, a liar, if failed campaign promises can be said to be lies, then it is more like pointing one finger at him and the other four pointing at the NDC members.

Like any of the above three, the NDC will feel very uncomfortable with Bawumia as president, since their insincerity with Ghanaians will be exposed.

With the polls coming on Saturday, I only pray that no violence, erupts at the 276 polling stations, so that whoever is elected flag bearer will have a united will of party members behind him. Good luck to all the gentlemen.

Can the KMA win the sanitation fight?

0
A garbage container overflown with rubbish in CBD of Kumasi, as transport unions , hawkers and pedestrians pass by.

The quest of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to rollout a pilot sanitation exercise in the Central Business District (CBD) of Kumasi, which is increasingly getting filthy owing to the activities of hawkers and transport unions, is raising more questions than answers.

Over the years, waste collection in the CBD has always been a challenge the KMA has been grappling with.

Interestingly, The Chronicle understands that Kumasi has about ten companies which process plastics, however, plastic wastes have held the city to ransom.

In an attempt to confront this challenge, about four years ago, the former Chief Executive Officer of the KMA, Osei-Assibey, introduced a similar exercise which was aimed at curbing the dumping of waste on the streets of the Metropolis, by installing waste bins at almost all vantage points, however, the exercise failed owing to poor supervision and education by the Assembly.

uncollected garbage at a taxi station at Dr. Mensah

Waste bins were seen overflowing with rubbish in broad daylight at various points of the CBD. Moreover, some people stole the waste bins to their homes for reasons which are only known to them.

Last week, residents of Kumasi woke up to the news that the KMA, under the leadership of Samuel Pyne, was set to rollout another sanitation initiative called “Keep Kumasi Clean; Let’s Recycle.”

Supported with a €2.5 million Euros grant facility from the European Union (E.U) under the Local Authorities Partnerships For Sustainable Cities, the programme aims for the Holistic Reinforcement For Sustainable Development (HORESD) of Kumasi.

Per the initiative, waste generated in the CBD was going to be segregated from degradable to biodegradable, with plastic waste earmarked for industrial purposes.

It comes along with eight roll-off garbage trucks and 1,000 pieces and sizes of litter waste containers.

It is instructive to state that the assembly has embarked on education among the market women which aims to conscientised them about three months concerning the impending exercise. .

This week, The Chronicle embarked on a working visit to the congested CBD, and it was an eyesore to see mountainous garbage in front of the transport station, adjacent the under-construction Central Market, which work had stalled.

Apart from the above description, areas such as Doctor Mensah, Roman Hill among others, remain in abject filth, raising question about the fate of the impending programme.

Reached on phone, Madam Henrietta Afia Konadu, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the KMA, acknowledged the heaps of garbage around the under-construction Central Market.

According to Afia Konadu, the vehicle which was supposed to collect the garbage conked out Tuesday dawn at 2:00am, hence it could not perform its duty.

“We know that today we have some challenge in some parts of the CBD.”

Madam Henrietta indicated that the dust bins were of two colours, namely brown and blue, with each colour ascribed to a particular type of waste.

Quizzed on how education on segregation of the waste had been accepted by the market women and others in the CBD, Afia Konadu indicated that the Assembly met the stakeholders as far back as last year in the CBD on the project.

“We did twelve days of pitching camp within parts of the Central Business District. We started from Sanbra, Boss FM, Lansah Chemist, Cal Bank, MTN Zone, PZ, Opoku Trading, where the traders spoke about it, and they were given [an] opportunity to ask questions. Their leaders came on board to find out about how this is going to be.”

She indicated that the education had been on radio, television and in-person, “where we went to people’s shop, place of hawking among others.”

Asked about when exactly the programme would kick start, the KMA PRO could not give a date, except to say it would start in the month of November.

Quizzed on if the ‘Keep Kumasi Clean; Let’s Recycle’ project was an antidote to the waste challenge in the CBD, Afia Konadu told this reporter that the Assembly could not police bins, but they were hopeful the programme would be successful.
