Musician cum entrepreneur, Okyeame Kwame, has been appointed as an Ambassador for the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to support the campaign against Hepatitis in the country.
The appointment forms part of efforts by the GHS to expand public awareness and ensure that more people have access to information and support in the fight against Hepatitis.
Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Professor Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, officially presented the appointment to Okyeame Kwame, urging him to use his influence to help drive the campaign and reach more people.
“Today I officially give you your appointment as Ghana Health Service Ambassador to champion the campaign against Hepatitis,” he said.
Professor Akoriyea thanked Okyeame Kwame for accepting the role, describing him as a key partner in advancing the course.
“Thank you so much for accepting to be a champion for this noble cause,” he added.
As part of his role, Okyeame Kwame is expected to support public education efforts on Hepatitis and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving awareness of the disease across Ghana.
The move comes as health authorities continue to emphasise the importance of early detection, prevention and increased public knowledge in tackling Hepatitis.
