MTN Ghana has supported the New Asafo Basic Schools with computers as part of activities to mark the 21 days Yello Care programme. The gesture was to improve upon ICT skills and training in the Asokwa Municipal Assembly.
MTN also donated four laptops to the school administration to help them digitalise their operations in support of their efforts towards ICT skills development.
Mr. Selorm Adadevoh, MTN Chief Executive Officer (CEO), accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Management and senior officials, presented the items to the school.
Mr. Adadevoh said this year’s 21 days of Y’ello Care would focus on launching different initiatives in ICT and digital skill training for schools.
He stressed that the goal of MTN Ghana was to support all the government was doing in ICT.
Mrs. Grace Opoku Konadu, Headteacher of the school, who received the items, expressed profound gratitude to MTN for the kind gesture, which came at the right time when the study of ICT or computer literacy had become globally important and crucial towards development.
Madam Opoku Konadu said the laptops would improve ICT education in the school and help prepare the final year students adequately for their exam.
She promised to ensure that the items would help with the training and study of ICT, and contribute to the security of the students after school.
