Publishing coy donates GH¢400k worth of science books to Otumfuo Foundation

Otumfuo admires copies of the books

Prof. Quarm Publications, a publishing firm headquartered in Kumasi, has donated educational materials worth GH¢400,000 to support the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation to improve the quality of education.

The 14,500 science textbooks were intended to be distributed to students in deprived communities across the country.

Out of the number, about 12,000 copies would be distributed to primary and junior high schools (JHS), while the remaining 2,500 would be supplied to senior high schools (SHS).

Professor Joseph Albert Quarm, Chief Executive Officer of the publishing company, stressed the importance of giving back to society after 28 years of existence, especially in supporting to promote education towards national development.

The former Member of Parliament for Amansie West Constituency hoped the books would enhance teaching and learning, and promote quality and all-inclusive education.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, who has a passion for education, lauded the effort and good work of Prof Quarm Publications Limited for contributing immensely to the education in the country, particularly in the area of Science.

Professor Quarm Publications has, over the years, contributed its quota to the promotion of education, which is a priority area of the Ashanti King.

In October 2011, Prof Quarm Publications Limited donated 900 copies of Science text books, comprising all the nine titles of Prof. Quarm Publications, making 100 copies on each title authored by Mr. Joseph Albert Quarm, to the Otumfuo Charity Foundation.

In April 2013, Professor Quarm Publications also donated 6,000 learning materials, estimated to cost GH¢60,000 to the Otumfuo Education Fund for distribution to beneficiary basic schools in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.
