An astute business consultant, Mr. Kwaku Fosu Frimpong, has called on the Ghana Police Service to conduct a fair and independent investigation into all acts of violence and misconduct during the polling station elections of the New Patriotic (NPP) at Akwasiase in the Ahafo Ano North constituency. He has been accused by party executives of masterminding acts of violence and disturbances at the polling station polls.

But Mr. Fosu Frimpong has denied complicity in the violence and disturbances and noted that the probe would help unravel the truth and absolve him of blame. He stated that he is committed to peace, fairness, unity and the democratic values of the New Patriotic party.

Reacting to statement of May 12, 2026 by some Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party in Ahafo Ano North, the former PC hopeful in the 2023 NPP constituency primary said the statement contained false, reckless, biased and politically motivated allegations against him and persons they describe as “my team”, regarding disturbances during the polling station elections at Akwasiase and other electoral areas.

Mr. Fosu Frimpong categorically stated that neither he nor any member of his team sponsored, invited, financed, organised or deployed thugs or macho men to disrupt the elections anywhere in the constituency.

“Those allegations are false, reckless, and intended to damage our reputation and mislead party members”, he said.

He also rejected attempts to associate certain individuals with his team to support a false political narrative.

According to him, the very mention of one Emmanuel Bempong, aka Nautica, was enough evidence of dishonesty in the statement because everybody in the constituency knew Nautica was not a member of his team, a clear indication that the said statement was not based on facts or proper investigations, but on propaganda and political bias.

Mr. Fosu Frimpong, 45, and known widely as KFF in the constituency and political circles, condemned the violence that occurred during the elections and wished the injured speedy recovery.

“Politics should never be about intimidation, bloodshed and hooliganism”, he cautioned.

He expressed shock about what he called selective silence and hypocrisy of the same Executives who are now pretending to defend peace and order.

According to him, two of his supporters suffered serious cutlass wounds on the fateful day in the presence of the sitting Member of Parliament, Agyemang Prempeh (MP) and police officers after he resisted attempts by the MP to side-line party rules and due process.

He said these same Executives, who are levelling accusations against him, remained silent as if the victims of Sunday May 10, 2026 attacks were not human beings or members of the NPP.

The aggrieved party activist censored the hypocrisy contained in paragraph 13 of their statement which pointed to only persons they claim are supporters of the MP as victims, while deliberately

ignoring the fact that two of the persons who suffered serious cutlass wounds on Sunday were his supporters.

Mr. Fosu Frimpong queried if the brutal attacks on his supporters in the presence of a sitting MP and police officers were not relevant because the victims are from his camp.

He also alleged that he was personally attacked by a driver of the Member of Parliament, Hon. Nana Agyeman Prempeh, in the full presence of the Ghana Police Service during the violence in which a police officer sustained injuries while preventing an attack on him.

He said all these happened in the presence of the police, the Executives deliberately ignored these incidents and rather rushed to issue a one-sided propaganda statement to create a false impression even though the individual accused of inflicting the cutlass wounds on one of his supporters is known within the constituency as a supporter of the MP.

“Their statement is nothing more than propaganda driven by bias and political bitterness”, he said and noted that the continuous attempts by some Executives to manipulate processes and push outcomes in favour of persons they perceive to be aligned to them, would only succeed in creating tension and confusion within the constituency.
