Musician, Kuami Eugene has opened up about his upbringing in Fadama, describing a difficult childhood surrounded by violence, street life and financial struggles.

During a conversation with Headless Youtuber, the singer said he grew up among “hard guys” and often found himself involved in fights.

“I was always in fights all the time because those were my friends,” Kuami Eugene said.

He recalled attending a mission school because his family hoped the environment would calm him down, but admitted he got into a fight with a senior on his very first day.

The singer also spoke about the financial sacrifices his mother made to keep him in private schools despite their struggles at home.

“We didn’t have money, but my mom did her very best to put me in private schools,” he said.

Kuami Eugene explained that a later move to Ideal College changed his mindset after he met students from wealthier backgrounds and began to understand the value of discipline and hard work.

“That place humbled me,” he stated. “I never disrespected any human being again after that.”
