Mr. Isham Alhassan Yaw Bonsu, an aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed confidence in winning the party’s regional chairmanship race ahead of the 2028 general elections.
According to him, he has consistently supported delegates at the constituency level without waiting for an election and believes the delegates will reciprocate that gesture and support his aspiration in the upcoming regional elections.
He said on Akoma FM, a local radio station in Kumasi that he did not subscribe to the common political phrase “fear delegates.”
“I am confident that I will definitely become the next Ashanti Regional Chairman for the ruling National Democratic Congress towards the 2028 general elections,” he stated. Mr. Isham reiterated that his confidence stems from his impressive electoral record over the years.
He also commented on the NDC’s decision to use a digital platform for branch nominations, saying it would significantly reduce logistical confusion across the country.
The aspirant said the NDC had a structured way of selecting leaders, and that the process had never been a problem for the party because there are structures to determine who leads the party.
