Haaland lets hair down on how he’s coping with Premier League

Man City striker Erling Haaland has opened up on his meditation practices and football aspirations as he appeared on the cover of GQ’s second annual global sports issue.

The Norwegian striker, who earns £865,000-a-week, has enjoyed a fantastic debut season with the club, scoring 33 goals in 30 games across all competitions.

Now the 22-year-old has taken the unlikely dip into fashion, appearing on the cover of GQ’s sports issue, where he is seen letting his hear down while wearing a £2,000 jacket as well as a £690 Givenchy jumper.

Another picture inside the edition which is to be released on January 31, shows him wearing all-white in a jacket worth a massive £3,800 and a jumper worth £325.

Haaland focuses on the mental side of the game more intently than most. A few years back, he garnered some attention for what has become his signature goal celebration: sliding into a lotus pose and closing his eyes, as if in a meditative trance.

The celebration led to a wave of imitators including from the Paris Saint-Germain side in a Champions League game.

Haaland speaking about meditation said: ‘I think it’s a really good thing.

‘To relax, to try to not think too much. Because stress is not good for anyone. I hate to be stressed, and I try not to be stressed. But the concept of meditation is to try to let go of these kinds of thoughts. It’s really individual, but for me it’s worked really well.’
