New tables and chairs with white boards have also been provided for teachers and students.

Work on the rehabilitation took eight weeks from June to August 2023, at an estimated cost of GH¢ 400,000 under GRIDCo’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which focuses on Educational Support for communities in the area, where it operates.

Ing. Ebenezer Kofi Essienyi, Chief Executive Officer of GRIDCo explained that the initiative is aligned with GRIDCo’s Core Value of “Safety” after the company’s attention was drawn to the severe deterioration of the school building and the potential hazard it posed to the young children.

The CEO of GRIDCo noted that Education is the foundation for a prosperous future and that providing these upgraded classrooms, was GRIDCo’s investment in the education and development of the young minds in Asueyi, with the aim of empowering them to pursue diverse career paths such as engineering, medicine, finance, administration, academia and law, and ultimately making a positive impact on their community.

Inj. Essienyi believed the generous donation aligns with Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which focuses on quality of education for all.
