The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas), Ing. Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey has held first management meeting with staff of the state owned entity where he outlined the use of gas to drive the 24-hour economy programme through agro-processing, transportation, construction and manufacturing services.
He also highlighted the need to operate and transport gas to customers safely and reliably in line with the vision and mission of Ghana Gas. Health, Safety, Environment and Security matters, he noted, are already ingrained in the values and organisational culture and that there would be the need to sustain these matters.
Ing. Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey emphasised the need to provide a constant gas supply to companies such as cocoa processing (agriculture) and gas to power railways(transportation) for the 24-hour economy drive.
At the meeting, he also emphasised the need for earlier completion of projects such as the LPG Bottling Plant to provide jobs for Ghanaians. This, he noted, is also in line with the 24-hour economy.
It would be recalled that the president, during his campaign for the 2024 elections, made mention of the 24-hour economy program and Robert Kofi Lartey explained the role of Ghana Gas to the realisation of such important vision for the sustenance of the economy and further creation of jobs.
The new CEO also emphasised improvements in the professionalism of all Ghana Gas staff and also productivity and efficiency in the technical areas.
He also indicated resolve to continue and even improve on existing engagements and support of the company towards its project-affected communities.
He was optimistic of the diverse expertise, professional background of management team and that of the entire staff, calling on entire staff to fully rally behind the vision of the Company.
