The Ghana Education Service (Ghana Education Service) has interdicted a teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following the circulation of a video on social media allegedly depicting inappropriate conduct between a staff member and a student.

In a statement issued by GES, it said it had launched formal investigations into the incident, which it described as “disturbing.” The interdiction, it noted, is in line with its internal disciplinary procedures and is intended to allow for an unhindered inquiry into the matter.

The teacher, whose identity has not yet been officially disclosed, has been removed from active duties pending the outcome of the investigations.

The alleged incident is said to involve a student of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region, triggering concern within the education community and prompting swift administrative action from the national secretariat.

GES strongly condemned any form of romantic or sexual relationship between teachers and students, stressing that such conduct violates professional ethics and safeguarding standards within the education sector. It reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct in schools, warning that any staff member found culpable would face both disciplinary and legal consequences.

The Service further assured the public that the safety and welfare of students remain its top priority, adding that appropriate measures are being taken to protect all parties involved while due process is followed.

It also appealed for calm and cautioned against the spread of unverified content as investigations continue.
