A Revolution is launched to change the perception of people towards society. It makes them aware of the role they are to play in society for the upliftment of human values and for human progress.
Did we achieve that after the ten years of an extreme sacrificial Revolution from December 1981 to 1991? We succeeded in our own way in Ghana, but it was cut short by Western pressure to go back to their corrupt democratic rule or be overthrown by force of arms and we obeyed them, turned to their imposed democracy and beat their lackeys in 1992 and 1996.
However, Britain took four hundred years before she arrived at her present democratic governance. Alien practices are rearing its ugly head in the great NDC and are festering like a sore and one may ask, what is it?
We suffered for eight hellish years and campaigned very hard to ensure that the NDC beat the violent prone tribal NPP to an extent that their flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accepted an early defeat in December, 2024 because there was no way out. But immediately after President Mahama was sworn in as President of the Republic, strange things started happening with impunity “Tikon Sagi” to wit; “we won’t agree”.
Countless members of Parliament on the ticket of the NDC deliberately refuse to pick phone calls from members of the grassroots within the party. An equal number of ministers also refuse to pick calls from the very people who worked day and night to ensure the Party’s massive victory.
Frankly speaking, we reject the explanation that our Members of Parliament and ministers of state are always busy because it is never true in the sense that they cannot be very busy than the sitting President who carry 16 regions and countless Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies on his shoulders as well as our humble Vice President of the Republic and the Chief of Staff.
Public office belongs to the people and if you want the people off your back, don’t accept to work in a public office. What you are doing is just too bad. Radicals are the products of poverty. Without the support of the people, every appointee is nothing before a decimal point.
For, if they had not voted massively for the party to win the election, the President cannot appoint anybody. If the sitting President can receive phone calls and even see some missed calls and call back, if the Vice President can receive phone calls and even see missed calls and call back, if the Chief of Staff can receive calls and see missed calls and call back, then who are you and what are you to snub NDC foot soldiers with disrespect and contempt?
For me, I always write with malice towards none so, I don’t care whether one is offended or not because I write to provoke debate. It is not too late for you to reconnect with the grassroots. How can we become Comrades yesterday and fight NPP bloodsuckers, defeated them in a sweet victory in December 2024 and you turn round to make us your sworn enemies?
It can’t happen and won’t happen because if you have forgotten so soon, the NDC was born out of a No-Nonsense Revolution and several Cadres died excluding this writer. So, no person or group of persons will be allowed to behave strangely in the party. You lose nothing by receiving phone calls and it takes nothing away from you when you receive phone calls from members of the grassroots.
Your refusal to pick phone calls are deliberate and disrespectful. How could you do that? Refusal to listen to the grassroots was one of the main reasons why the NPP lost the 2024 election and you are openly copying them or you are not aware? Will you be happy if you now decide to visit any constituency or party branch and the executives tell you to book an appointment with them before they tell you to visit them?
No, you won’t be happy and you will even be surprised to hear that. Fine, that is where you people. Parliamentarians and Ministers are indirectly leading the party towards and that is why I say “Tikon Sagi” to wit we won’t agree, it won’t happen. You sit down there, annoy all members of the grassroots, refuse to pick their calls, hate them with contempt and regard them as your enemies and not friends anymore and openly brag that it will be a walk over on the NPP in 2028.
You will surely live to regret it bitterly. Comrades, times have changed and it is not too late for you to repent because you are making the party work very difficult for those of us at the grassroots. As a founding member of the party and a Cadre, I know NDC MPs buy their own fuel as well as ministers of state in order to build the Ghana we want, but how many members of the grassroots are aware of this or even know about it?
Continue snubbing members of the grassroots and you will soon reap the whirlwind instead of the wind. These are not my words, but I believe it is the stubborn truth. We shall lift high the Flag of Ghana once again under the NDC. They say, brighten the corner where you are, and I am brightening the corner at Obuasi East where I am. Is anybody listening?
