Veteran gospel Artiste, Mrs. Amy Newman has mentioned that an Artiste cannot do away with social media in today’s music world.
Discussing how social media has been beneficial to her ministry in recent times, the ‘Okamafo Jesus’ hitmaker mentioned that; “, “I sometimes get calls from people all over the world about what they saw on my social media pages. I am sometimes surprised how they got to know but that is the power of social media now. You do something now and it’s all over in the next minute. Things have changed now and social media is one place an Artiste cannot do away with.”
Talking about managing her social media pages, she said; “To be honest I am not the one who is managing my social media. I have my sons in faith who came to me that they want to help my ministry by managing my social media for me.”
“These are people I did not know before. They told me that they have been following my ministry since they were children and felt this is what they want to help my ministry with, so they manage the pages for me” Mrs. Amy Newman said.
Comparing the promotion of songs in the 1990s when she first came up in the industry, Mrs. Amy Newman said “now you get to see who is following you and those who are following you too on social media. Unlike before, now get to see it. Per the statistics from my social media, I am followed more by people in Accra. I am followed more by people in Accra and Takoradi follows before Kumasi.”
“This is the advantage you get with social media so I think it has come to help the ministry more than before” Mrs. Amy Newman mentioned in an interview on Skyy Power’s OC Showbiz Review.
Promoting her new single ‘Makoma Ahye ma,’ Mrs. Amy Newman entreated her followers to stream her songs more on Youtube with the name, ‘Amy Newman.’
