The workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have gladly welcomed the appointment of John Ayiku Ocansey as their Acting Deputy Managing Director.
To the workers, Mr Ocansey’s appointment brings confidence to the work front, since he is one of the grassroot members of the ECG.
Mr Ocansey has worked with the ECG for 28 years and has gone through the various ranks of the company.
Until his recent appointment, he was the HR Manager for the Accra East Region of the ECG. He holds a BSc in Social Sciences from the University of Ghana, an MSc in Governance and Development from the University of Cape Coast and an LLB from Mountcrest University College.
Politically, Mr Ayiku Ocansey has been a two-term Constituency Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and a former aspiring parliamentary candidate of the party for the same constituency in 2016.
In an introductory letter signed by the Energy Minister, John Abdulai Jinapor, he called on all the workers of the ECG across the country to accord him (John Ocansey) the necessary support for the collective success of the ECG.
