The Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Mr Aaron Kanor, has paid an official working visit to the Tema Collection, as part of efforts to strengthen revenue mobilisation and improve operational efficiency at the country’s major port.

The visit, which took place on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 provided an opportunity for the Commissioner to engage the management of the Tema Collection on revenue performance, port operations and measures to enhance Customs’ contribution to national development.

During a closed-door meeting with the Sector Commander of the Tema Collection and his management team, Mr Kanor commended officers for their efforts in meeting revenue targets in recent months.

He urged them to sustain the momentum and intensify their efforts to ensure that the Collection not only meets but surpasses its overall revenue target for the year.

The Commissioner emphasised the need for continued commitment, teamwork and efficiency in the discharge of Customs’ mandate, particularly given the critical role of the Tema Port in Ghana’s trade and revenue mobilisation.

Mr Kanor subsequently held discussions with the Director of Tema Port, Zumah Tebon, on port efficiency and other operational matters.

The discussions focused on issues relevant to improving the movement and clearance of goods while strengthening collaboration among the various stakeholders operating within the port.

As part of the visit, the Commissioner, accompanied by the Port Director, the Sector Commander of the Tema Collection and the Head of the State Warehouse, embarked on a fact-finding tour of Atlas Container Freight Station (CFS), a UCL-designated terminal.

The team inspected operations at the facility and engaged relevant officials as part of efforts to gain first-hand insight into activities at the terminal and identify areas requiring attention.

Mr Kanor and his delegation later proceeded to the Golden Jubilee Terminal and Meridian Port Services (MPS) Terminal 3, where they continued their assessment of operations and engaged stakeholders on matters relating to Customs activities and port efficiency.

The visit forms part of the Customs Division’s broader efforts to enhance revenue collection, improve trade facilitation and strengthen operational oversight at Ghana’s ports.
