The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has settled GH¢2.3 billion in outstanding payment obligations to bondholders affected by the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) for the 2026 financial year.
The Board, in a press release issued today, said it had paid GH¢2,306,202,372.09, completing its mandatory payment obligations to the affected DDEP bondholders.
The latest payment follows a GH¢376.3 million coupon payment made in March 2026. That payment brought the total amount paid by COCOBOD to DDEP bondholders during the year to GH¢2,682,582,282.18.
COCOBOD said the latest settlement forms part of its efforts to manage its financial obligations responsibly and strengthen the financial sustainability of Ghana’s cocoa sector.
The Board had earlier in July 2026 settled GH¢162 million owed to holders of Cocoa Bills who did not participate in the DDEP.
According to COCOBOD, the July settlement brought its outstanding obligations to the affected non-DDEP Cocoa Bill holders to a close.
The Board said the series of payments demonstrate its commitment to the systematic settlement of its financial obligations under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance.
COCOBOD also assured bondholders, investors, cocoa industry stakeholders and the general public of its continued commitment to responsible financial management as it works towards strengthening the cocoa sector.
