Chief supports 800 children with Laptops, Cash and Learning Materials

Nana Osei Kofi, Chief of Sabin Akrofrom in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, has donated learning materials, laptops, food and cash to about 800 children, including less privileged and needy pupils, to mark his 13th anniversary of his enstoolment.

Eighteen of the beneficiaries who were named after the Chief received laptops while Others were supported with cash to pay their school fees. Nana Osei Kofi said at the presentation ceremony that he was committed to improving the standard of education and also ensuring that children of school-going age perform well, become responsible adults and contribute to the development of Sabin Akrofrom and beyond.

According to him, the initiative will not be a “nine-day wonder” and pledged to prioritize education in his jurisdiction. He appealed to stakeholders at home and in the diaspora to contribute to the human capital development of the town through education and job creation to equip the youth after school.

He also advised parents of the beneficiaries to take a keen interest in the education of their wards to enable them realise their future aspirations and reduce social vices in the country.

Mrs. Ruth Afriyie Anane, whose child was a beneficiary, expressed profound gratitude to the Chief and his elders for the kind gesture.

She prayed for God’s blessings, wisdom and strength for the Chief to be able to sustain the initiative and urged other chiefs and opinion leaders to emulate the Chief’s shining example.
