The General Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia has dismissed as false reports circulating online claiming that African nationals with expired immigration waivers had been ordered to leave the country by May 31, 2026.

In a press clarification issued by the immigration authorities, the department specifically referenced publications by Campaigner Online and News Ghana, which carried reports headlined: “Cambodia Orders Africans with Expired Immigration Waivers to Leave by May 31, 2026.”

According to the Cambodian authorities, the publication does not reflect any official directive or immigration policy of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

“The General Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to clarify that the information published on those websites is completely untrue,” the statement stressed.

The department urged the international community, foreign nationals, diplomatic missions and the general public to disregard the reports and rely only on official communication channels for verified immigration information.

The immigration authorities further advised the public to obtain authentic updates through the official website of the General Department of Immigration.

The department also provided its official hotline number, (+855) 78 38 66 99, for further inquiries.

The clarification comes amid concerns generated by the online reports, particularly within sections of the African community residing in Cambodia.
