The Tema Regional Command has thrown two men into the coolers for carrying 692 parcels of suspected Indian hemp in a vehicle.
The police arrested Godwin Asigeh, the driver and Freeman Amedoku on a Ford Transit Van, with registration number GT 6140-22, during a snap-check operation at Dawhenya in the Prampram Division, at about 12.45am of September 8, this year.
The Head of Public Affairs of the Command explained that suspects, together with the substances and vehicle had been conveyed to the Devtraco Police Station while investigations proceed.
The Command commended the arresting officers for their vigilance, assuring the public of intensifying its efforts to prevent trafficking and distribution of hazardous substances in the region.
