At Kumasi Traditional Council meeting held at Manhyia recently and presided over by Otumfuo himself, all the allegations were read out to the now destooled chief, with Otumfuo emphasing that he could not work with him.

Soon after the King had spoken, embattled Nana Twumasi knelt down and pleaded for forgiveness, but his appeal was turned down.

Galamsey activities in the Ashanti region have been on ascendency. River bodies and forests are being destroyed.

In view of this challenge, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has waged war against galamsey in his Kingdom, warning chiefs not to engage in the act, since it threatens the survival of humanity.
