All Saints Anglican Pro-Cathedral to build Basilica … Sets up17-member committee to raise funds

All Saints Anglican, Pro-Cathedral, Takoradi, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the early completion of its Basilica.

The project, which is 60% complete, was temporarily suspended due to lack of funds.

However, His Lordship Rt. Rev. Alexander Kobina Asmah, Bishop of the Sekondi Anglican Dioceses, has directed the Priest in-Charge, Rev. Father Moses Cudjoe, to ensure its completion on time.

Consequently, Rev. Fr. Moses Cudjoe, in consultation with the Church Council, has set up and inaugurated a 17-member Fund Raising Committee, led by Mr. Kobina Twintoh, a businessman. The terms of reference for the Kobina Twinto-led committee is basically to mobilise funds, both from home and abroad, to meet the inspiration of the church members about the projects progression, development and completion.

The launching of the fund in aid of the Basilica has been scheduled for December 10, 2023, at the church premises.

Mr. Twintoh revealed that, the church would have to raise an amount of GH¢4,217,463.50 to complete the edifice.

The Chairman, therefore, took advantage to appeal to benevolent institutions, corporate bodies, individuals, and philanthropists to support the project.

“It is the House of God and cannot deny what is due for God.”

He assured that, appeal letters would be sent out to some non-governmental organisations, Ghana Gas, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Otumfuo Foundation of which the owner, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is an Anglican, and prayed that all renowned Anglicans, both home and abroad, “would hear us and respond favorably.”
