AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Obuasi Mine has donated two tricycles and 400 dustbins towards the implementation of the Keeping Obuasi Clean Campaign (KOCC) by the two municipal assemblies.

Handing over the GHC660,000 worth of equipment at a short ceremony, Mr. Richard Amoako Anshong, Communication Superintendent of AGA noted that sanitation is one of the key pillars of the company’s 10-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan, hence the donation.

He said while AGA has set itself to embark on major development projects in the mining town, it was imperative on their part to ensure that the town is free from filth.

Mr. Amoako Anshong mentioned that this is the second time the company has donated sanitation items to the assemblies, having also donated dustbins and wheelbarrows in 2019.

Madam Roselove Appiah Kannin, the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive who received the equipment on behalf of the two assemblies, thanked AGA for the donation.

She called for more of such donations to help the assemblies deal with the refuse situation in the mining town.
