Work has started in earnest on the rehabilitation of the ETS Section of the Obuasi Roads Network, which has been awarded on contract by the management of AngloGold Ashanti (AGA)Obuasi Mine.
At the time of filing this report, about 25% of the work that entails pavement blocks had been completed.

The 6,800 metres square stretch starts from the Golden Pride Savings and Loans office at Wawasi in the Obuasi East Municipality and ends at the Multi Credit Savings and Loans office in the Obuasi West Municipality.
In a chat with The Chronicle, Mr Abdul Rahim Mahama, Project Manager of Justmo Construction Company executing the project, he stated that after the sod cutting, management needed to mobilize the workforce hence the little bit of delay in the execution of the project.
He stated that to ensure the early completion of the job some Justmo workers at the Boankra Inland Port site and others from Takoradi were mobilised to join the few workers at Obuasi bringing the total workforce to 60.

“Right now work has started and barring any unfortunate incidents, we will not go beyond the three-month deadline given us,” he said.
Asked whether the rains will not disturb their work, the Project Manager said Justmo workers know how to work in the rainy season.
He thanked the assembly members, residents, MCEs and the management of AGA for showing goodwill towards his workers.
In a related development The Chronicle can confirm that even though the project is causing traffic, the residents are happy with the ongoing rehabilitation works.
The rehabilitation of the ETS stretch by AngloGold is part of the mining giant’s agenda to Make Obuasi Great Again (MOGA), which aims at moderniSing the town and also restoring the Mines prominence in Ghana’s mining sector.
