Mr Joseph Amankwah, the Municipal Chief Executive for Kwabre East Municipality, has officially commissioned a 3-unit KG block with nursery, office, store and toilet facility, as well as a mechanised borehole fitted with a 5,000-litre polytank and concrete stand, for the Yasore community.

The project was funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

The MCE said a search by the Physical Planning Department revealed that the land had been earmarked for education projects, hence the Assembly started the project.

He said it is now left to the Education Directorate to ensure that admissions begin, as the facility has been handed over to the Directorate. He assured that the primary and junior high school blocks would commence at the appropriate time.

The MCE advised teachers to exercise patience with the children and urged the Education Directorate to ensure that experienced teachers are posted to the facility. He pleaded with residents in the community to own the project and protect the facility, and to bring their wards to enable teachers to start the enrolment drive.

The Municipal Director of Education, Nana Adu Mensah Asare, commended the Assembly for the project noting that education is the backbone of development in every community.

He said the Assembly always comes to the aid of the Directorate with furniture and support during mock examinations to help improve the standard of education in the Municipality.

According to him, facilities such as classroom blocks help reduce overcrowding of pupils in classrooms.

The representative of the Queen Mother of Ashanti, Obrempong Nana Poku Kyeretwie, commended the Assembly for the edifice and expressed gratitude to the Assembly for the timely completion of the project. He assured the Assembly of the community’s readiness to support authorities to get newly admitted pupils enrolled.

He urged the Assembly to add facilities from Primary One to Six with an additional Junior High School block to expand the school to serve the community.
