The NPP Has Made Nonsense Of The Rule Of Law

Party politics is not meant to divide a country, but must be seen to create unity. We now have a band of political misfits, and clap trap orators who jump from one TV and radio station to another spewing falsehood and throwing dust into the eyes of the youth who need to know their country’s history.

It is better to face the truth, no matter how painful and unpleasant it might be than to resort to soothing falsehoods in other to satisfy ones selfish ends.

Democracy does not thrive on threats and intimidation as members of the NPP always want Ghanaians to believe. Every action generates a reaction and, extreme tolerant people will be forced to be intolerant if they are pushed to the wall. We are dealing with situations in the society where the Adults of tomorrow would face so many challenges in this country.

Most innocent NPP supporters equate opposition with attacking and insulting their opponents. The Progress Party Government of Dr. K. A. Busia descended from the late Lawyer J. B. Danquah who was a brilliant lawyer, but proved to be contemptuous of the Rule of Law.

When the erstwhile CPP were banned by NLC Decree 34/5m, it was a punishable offence to be holding a mere photograph of Dr. Nkrumah after his violent overthrow on 24th February, 1966 by 5 years imprisonment in hard labour.

Dr. Busia was appointed the advisor to the NLC Military Government as well as the Chairman of the Centre for Civic Education and he used that position to campaign against Dr. Kwame Nkrumah at a time the ban on party politics was still in force for three years. This writer joined Dr. Busia’s Youth Group known as the Busia Intelligent Boys (B.I.B.) and our role was to degrade, destroy and even send Dr. Nkrumah, the sole founder of Ghana, to the cleaners by telling Ghanaians that he has stolen gold, that he had a fetish called “Kankan Nyame” and that he (Dr. Nkrumah) always used pregnant  women for sacrifice. All were complete lies and had no iota of truth in it.

So, when the ban on party politics was lifted (on 1st May 1969), Dr. Busia was way ahead of all the registered political parties. In fact, we do harm to ourselves and even to the men we claim to admire like Dr. K. A. Busia, Dr. J. B. Danquah, J. A. Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo when we pretend that they have no faults and yet these men send Ghana twenty years back for nothing.

If the pent-up feelings of most Ghanaians towards the NPP is anything to go by, they would never forgive the NPP, which claims to hold the mantle of Dr. Busia’s former parties. In fact, when the crowd is headed in the wrong direction, you must walk alone.

The NPP claims that it is an Elite Party led by Conservatives who believe in the rule of law and true democracy, but they always work against its institution.  The NPP  is now a killing machine under the Fourth Republic. The following easily come to mind.

(1) Under Former President J. A. Kufuor, deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana, Roko Frimpong was shot dead for refusing to sign a false document.

(2) Issah Mobilla was tortured to death in police custody in December 2004 under J. A. Kufuor.

(3) Samuel Ennin, former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association was shot dead by unknown assailant(s) in Kumasi.

As members of the Busia’s Intelligence Boys (B.I.B), it was therefore decided that Ghanaians be re-educated once to “de-Nkrumahnize” Ghana to ensure that the return to civilian rule would not lead to the same familiar scenario. Such a task was entrusted to a new agency, the Centre for Civic Education (CCE), which was inaugurated by Lt. General Ankrah, then Chairman of the NLC on the 7th  June,  1967 with Dr. K. A. Busia as its first Chairman.

It was to re-integrate and unify Society and help the populace to understand the limits of government power and authority. It was also to teach people to re-evaluate others as leaders. These were all Dr. K. A. Busia’s ideas. In fact, the Centre for Civic Education (CCE) led by Busia’s Intelligence Boys (B.I.B) including this writer in 1968/1969 began a [dubious] “Busianisation” process to make Ghana safe for Dr. Busia’s new democracy.

It will be recalled that today’s Free J.H.S and Free S.H.S were the brain child of Rawlings’ PNDC government with Dr. Ben Abdallah as the then Secretary of Education, but ex-President J. A. Kufuor took it over and renamed it as Junior High School instead of Junior Secondary School and Senior High School instead of Senior Secondary School as it was during the PNDC era.

Therefore, those kids and political novices who passed through the Senior High School up to universities and beyond dare not challenge this writer at all when it comes to politics in Ghana.

ENTER AKUFO-ADDO, PEOPLE KILLED UNDER HIM

(1) Ahmed Suale – 2019
(2) Josephine Tandoh Asante – former marketing manager at GPHA

(3) J.B. Danquah Adu – under Akufo Addo

(4) Mallam Kaakaa & his two brothers killed in cold blood at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

(4) Eight (8) innocent Ghanaians were shot dead in cold blood on 7th December, 2020.  I am very happy that both former President J. A. Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo are still alive and kicking? For all you know, these two gentlemen are democratic cheats, democratic tricksters and not democrats in any way. I dare them to prove otherwise.

It is far better to remove the three High Court busts of those three high court judges from the court Premises because the NPP has proven that there is no rule of law whether they are in opposition or in government. They have made nonsense of the rule of law. All these nasty state of affairs are taking place daily in this country and yet Hon. Afenyo-Markin and his mighty minority group sit in Parliament and insult Hon. Dr. Zenator Rawlings as the daughter of a murderer.

From the moral point of view, our society frowns upon the taking of human life in any form but some innocent Ghanaians were killed not in a military regime, but under former Presidents J. A. Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo for the sixteen years that both were in office as elected presidents of Ghana but nobody raised a finger.

So, we have to blame our traditional rulers and the Clergy in Ghana and they cannot run away from it.

Traditional systems in Africa hold the key to peace, stability and development of the continent. Chiefs are elected for life and they have a social contract with their people and must be more concerned with the total and long term development of their communities for the benefit of their people instead of meddling in partisan politics, which divides the people. Rebellion is born when Rulers forget they are meant to serve. We will live and die for Ghana.
