Kwame Frimpong has been re-elected as Presiding Member of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) for a historic third term, securing 58 votes out of 66 votes, representing 87.87% of the total votes cast.
The victory comes after his contender, Ernest Baffour Ofori, stepped down, allowing Kwame Frimpong to run unopposed. His re-election ensures continuity in the Assembly’s leadership.
The re-election is a testament to Kwame Frimpong’s leadership skills, vision and dedication to the development of Kumasi.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Kwame Frimpong expressed gratitude to the Assembly members for their trust and confidence in him. He pledged to build on his achievements, strengthen partnerships and address the community’s pressing needs, especially sanitation and hygiene in the city.
Mr. Kwame Frimpong also appreciated Ernest Baffour Ofori’s decision to step down, citing it as a show of party unity and commitment to the development of the Metropolis.
