Nana Kwaku Dankwa III, the Paramount chief of MO Traditional area, in the Bono East region, has called for healthy co-existence of citizens based on peace, unity and respect towards nation building.
He made the call at Kintampo, during this Year’s Yam Pidia festival. Nana Kwaku Dankwa III appealed to the people to respect the laws of the land to enhance progress and massive development to the Traditional area and Ghana as a whole.
The Paramount chief emphasised that the people of MO in the four Traditional areas in Bono East, Bono and Savana Regions need unity to develop their respective areas.
According to the Mo Paramount Chief (Kintampo), there cannot be any meaningful development and progress in the area when there is no peace and unity.
He said ancient Roman Empire ruled the world because there was peace and unity, which paved way for the Romans to become world leaders.
Nana Kwaku Dankwa III also pointed to litigation, disunity and misunderstanding which led to the fall of Roman Empire.
The Paramount Chief, popularly called “Asomdwoehene”, appealed to all the chiefs and people to look up to Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III, the paramount chief of Prang, who observed his 60th anniversary during the Nkyifie Yam Festival recently.
He described the Prang paramount chief as peaceful and stressed that in a peaceful atmosphere the people will be victorious with their developmental agenda.
Nana Kwaku Dankwa III noted that it is not an accident that all the paramount chiefs spoke about the need for peace during the Pidia Yam festival, which brought all the Paramount chiefs of the four MO Traditional areas to celebrate.
“l spoke about unity and peace and Nnaa Lanjahor Karley, Paramount chief of JAMA Traditional area spoke about peace, because we want Development and Progress”, he said.
He announced plans to construct a befitting modern Palace at Kintampo, once peace prevails, to uplift the image of the MO Traditional area of Bono East Region.
Nana Kwaku Dankwa III welcomed suggestions towards development programmes and projects, assuring that his doors are wide open 24 hours.
