Ghana name squad for AFCON 2027 qualifying double-header against Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia
Head coach Carlos Queiroz has named his Ghana squad for the opening matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, the Ghana Football Association said in a statement.
The Black Stars, four-time African champions, have been drawn in Group C alongside Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia and Somalia. Ghana open the campaign away to Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké, the Ivorian city’s Stade de la Paix, on September 24, before hosting The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium (Ohene Djan) on September 29.
Ghana will also play Morocco in a friendly in Tangier on October 4.
Queiroz’s squad blends World Cup-experienced players with newer call-ups. It is built around a core that helped Ghana reach the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup before elimination by Colombia.
