WAFA relegated from Ghana League after 8-yrs

Karela United ended their 2021/22 season’s campaign finishing fourth on the log following their slim win over West African Football Academy on the final day.

West African Football Academy (WAFA) have suffered relegation from the Ghanaian top-flight league following a 1-0 away defeat to Karela United in their match-week 34 encounter.

A second half strike from Umar Bashiru cemented Karela United’s place in top four after the fixture had ended in a scoreless draw in the first half at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinase.

After lack of goals in the first half, Midfield gem Umar Bashiru extended his goal tally for Karela United to 13 goals after registering his name on the score sheet for the hosts in the 49th minute of the game.

WAFA kept their hopes alive in the remaining minutes with hopes of at least levelling the score but all their efforts went futile.

West African Football Academy SC have suffered relegation from the Ghana Premier League after securing their status back from Division One League zone two in 2014.
