Two Foundations spearhead youth capacity building at Akyem Maase

Over sixty (60) persons, mainly youth, at Akyem Maase in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region have benefited from free skills development training, jointly organised by Watch Your Tongue Foundation, Ghana and Jesus Ark Foundation, both non-governmental organisations.

The beneficiaries were taken through employability skills such as building and construction incorporated with modernised roofing systems, CCTV camera installations, electric fencing and installation of car tracking and other security devices.

The highly participated skills training was supported by OBI Roofing Systems, Shalom Vision Systems and BKA Benkofa Limited.

Speaking to the Eastern file, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Watch Your Tongue Foundation, Ghana, Mr. Kwasi-Fori stated that the cost of the training and the welfare of the beneficiaries were taken care of by the sponsors.

Mr. Kwasi-Fori emphasised that skills development training of the youth is the surest way of mitigating the youth unemployment situation in the country and admonished other non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations and well-meaning individuals to embrace the initiative for the socio-economic development of the country.

On her part, Mrs. Eunice Ayisha Godsent, Co-CEO of Jesus Ark Foundation said that youth development continues to be a priority of her outfit and added that, if the youth are well equipped with employability skills, they will be self-dependent and demotivate them from social vices such as stealing, hooliganism and armed robbery amongst other.

She further urged the beneficiaries of the initiative to put in all their efforts to learn their variously placed fields of training for their welfare shortly.
