Germany welcome Serbia to the Allianz Arena

Germany look to kick off October on a positive note as they welcome Serbia to the Allianz Arena on Thursday for their latest UEFA Nations League fixture.

Neither side managed to win either of their opening two matches, and both will be aiming to return to winning ways. A 1-1 draw away to the Netherlands in Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge represented a decent start, despite the disappointment of conceding a late equaliser, but Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Greece courtesy of Dimitris Kourbelis’s 74th-minute strike was underwhelming by all accounts.

Die Mannschaft are now winless in four matches since their final World Cup group-stage game against Ecuador and have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven straight outings.

Originally tipped as favourites to top League A, Group 2, Germany now find themselves on course for the relegation playoffs, sitting third ahead of Klopp’s return to a stadium where he enjoyed memorable battles.

Already three points behind the Netherlands and a further two adrift of Greece, Germany cannot afford to drop points in their next outing, especially with the top two facing each other.

Germany have yet to hit top form under Klopp, who will be eager to mastermind an improved display in front of the Allianz Arena crowd.

Portugal to make it three wins when they take on Denmark

Portugal will be aiming to make it three wins from their opening three fixtures in the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League when they take on Denmark on Thursday night.

Bruno Fernandes

Jorge Jesus‘ side are top of Group 4 of League A on six points, while Denmark are third, having claimed three points from their opening two matches in the tournament.

Denmark opened their 2026-27 Nations League challenge with a 3-2 defeat to Norway, but they will enter this match off the back of a 2-0 win over Wales – three points from two games has left them in second spot in Group 4 of League A ahead of this contest.

Brian Riemer‘s side have two more games in this international period, facing Portugal on Thursday evening before tackling Wales on Sunday night.

Denmark now have a record of 13 wins, five draws and eight defeats from their 26 matches in the Nations League, and this is their fourth straight tournament in League A.

Portugal have tackled Portugal on 18 previous occasions, boasting a record of four wins, two draws and 12 defeats.

The pair locked horns in the last Nations League, with Denmark winning 1-0 on home soil, before Portugal recorded a 5-2 victory in the reverse fixture.

Portugal have been victorious in four of their last five matches against Denmark and will enter Thursday’s clash as the favourites, bidding to make it three straight wins in the 2026-27 tournament.

This is a testing match for Portugal, as Denmark have a lot of quality. However, it has been a strong start to their Nations League defence, and we are backing Jesus’ side to navigate their way to another narrow win.

Netherlands faceoff with high-flying Greece

Greece will welcome Netherlands to Stadio Toumbas on Thursday night in League A Group 2 of the UEFA Nations League.

The hosts are top of the table with two wins from two games, with the visitors second on four points after one win and one draw.

Netherlands new manager Xavi

Greece managed to secure promotion from League B of the Nations League in 2024-25, winning 3-0 in the second leg of their promotion/relegation playoff clash with Scotland to overturn a 1-0 first-leg defeat.

After a lacklustre performance in the first half of 2026 with Greece losing two and drawing two of their four friendly fixtures, Ivan Jovanovic‘s side have rebounded with a spectacular start to the Nations League this month.

Greece came from behind to dramatically defeat Serbia on matchday one, with Anastasios Douvikas scoring a 94th-minute winner, followed by a fantastic 1-0 win over Germany thanks to Dimitris Kourbelis’ strike.

Consequently, Greece find themselves top of the League A Group 2 standings with maximum points after two matches, and they will be eager to maintain their flawless start when they take on Netherlands at home.

Netherlands, however, head into Thursday’s clash enjoying a run of seven straight matches without defeat in 90 minutes, recording four wins and three draws – although they did lose on penalties to Morocco in the World Cup round of 32.

Netherlands have, in fact, lost just one of their last 22 matches across all competitions after 90 minutes, with new manager Xavi continuing that record in his first two matches.

The Spaniard was appointed following Netherlands’ World Cup exit, and Xavi has overseen a draw and victory in his first two games at the helm.

Greece may have got off to a flying start in the group, but Netherlands have looked superb in their opening two games and should have the quality to dominate this match and secure the victory.

Can Wales stop successive defeats when they host Norway?

Wales will be aiming to recover from successive defeats in the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League when they welcome Norway on Thursday night.

Craig Bellamy‘s side are currently bottom of Group 4 of League A on zero points, losing their opening two matches, while Norway occupy second in the section on three points.

Haaland

Wales have had a tough start to their 2026-27 Nations League campaign, losing their opener 1-0 to Portugal on September 24 before going down 2-0 to Denmark last time out; zero points from two matches has left them at the bottom of Group 4 of League A on zero points.

Bellamy’s team will now take on Norway, bidding to get their campaign off and running, before ending this international period with a clash against Denmark on Sunday night.

Wales have tackled Norway on 11 previous occasions, boasting a record of three wins, four draws and four defeats against Thursday’s opponents.

The last contest between the two sides took place in November 2011, with Wales recording a 4-1 victory in the international friendly.

Wales are finding it difficult at the moment, and they will be welcoming a very talented Norway outfit; we are expecting the visitors to navigate their way to all three points.
