Man United to return to winning ways against Tottenham
Today’s tantalising Premier League battle at Old Trafford, sees Manchester United seek to return to winning ways against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils were forced to accept a point in a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United last time out, while Antonio Conte‘s men ran out 2-0 winners over Everton.
Having seen his side’s three-game winning run come to an abrupt end on Sunday, Erik ten Hag must pick up the pieces and help his side regain some ground on the top four, as the fifth-placed Red Devils have now fallen three points behind Chelsea after nine matches.
Antonio Conte’s men had to be patient to break down a dogged Everton defence, and they have been rewarded heavily for their efforts, moving level on points with Manchester City in third place following the champions’ loss to Liverpool and ensuring their gap to leaders Arsenal would stay at four.
The introduction of Bissouma proved pivotal in Tottenham getting over the line against Everton, but the Lilywhites have flattered to deceive on the road so far this season, whereas Man United are a tough nut to crack at Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen if Christian Eriksen will recover from illness in time to line up against his former club.
The Red Devils will also take confidence from their recent spate of goal-laden wins against the Lilywhites, but it is difficult to back Ten Hag’s side to prevail against Conte’s resilient crop, and we think a low-scoring draw is the most likely result in this Big Six battle.

Chelsea have shown drastic improvement under Graham Potter and have managed to reclaim their place in the Premier League top four. The likes of Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling have stepped up under the new regime and will be intent on making their mark today.
Brentford have relied heavily on Ivan Toney in the final third this season and do have a few issues to address ahead of this match. Chelsea are the better team on paper and should be able to win this game.

Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema grabbed his first goal in five appearances, ending a mini goal drought by the prolific Frenchman’s standards. He will certainly be licking his lips ahead of a trip to the league’s leakiest defence.
