Tiwa Savage features on Bob Marley & The Wailers remake of ‘Waiting in Vain’

Nigerian Songster, Tiwa Savage has been featured on the remake of Bob Marley and The Wailers’ rendition of their classic hit, ‘Waiting In Vain.’

The original version of ‘Waiting In Vain’ was released in 1977 and has since become one of reggae music’s most memorable love songs. Bob Marley wrote the song, which appeared on his well celebrated ‘Exodus’ album.

Critics have praised Tiwa Savage for her silky vocals which merge wonderfully with the song’s smooth grooves, creating a laid-back and mellow mood that will appeal to fans of Tiwa and Bob Marley and The Wailers alike.

On the remix, Bob Marley and Tiwa Savage call out to their love interests as they anxiously await their return, the anguish in their voices indicating both a desperation and a yearning to be reunited.

The management of Bob Marley are currently remaking the legend Reggae Artiste’s popular songs. Sarkodie, a Ghanaian rapper, appeared on the version of Bob Marley and The Wailers’ ‘Stir It Up’ earlier this year.

According to Sarkodie, he was allowed to select a song from Bob Marley’s collection for the rendition. Going through the collection, he settled on ‘Stir it up.’ He also mentioned that, as part of the contract, he was not allowed to break the news ahead of its release.

This clause of the contract that Sarkodie shared after the ‘Stir it up’ rendition was released appears to bind Tiwa Savage too as her management did not give the slightest of clue on the feature.

According to critics of music, Tiwa Savage and Sarkodie’s appearances on remakes of Bob Marley songs demonstrate the power of music to transcend time and genre.
