Tinubu swears in Taiwo Oyedele

President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance.

The brief ceremony took place at the State House on Monday.

Oyedele replaces Dr. Doris Anite-Uzoka, who has been redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State, marking her third ministerial portfolio in the current administration.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that the Senate confirmed Oyedele’s appointment on Wednesday, 11th March 2026, just 24 hours after President Tinubu requested his screening.

Prior to his appointment, Oyedele served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he led a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s tax system.

Taiwo Oyedele is a Nigerian economist, accountant and public policy expert. He served as the chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms in Nigeria and was appointed by President Bola Tinubu. In March 2026, he was nominated by President Bola Tinubu and confirmed by senate on the 12th of March 2026 to serve as Minister of State for Finance to replace Doris Uzoka-Anite.
