The final draw of The Luckiest 2025 ended on a high note as ticket number 00029 emerged as the grand prize winner, taking home GH¢2.5 million, marking the biggest payout in the lottery’s three-year history.
The grand draw, attended by members of the media, stakeholders and participants, crowned months of nationwide engagement that saw The Luckiest crisscross Ghana in what organisers described as a brand positioning year, with visibility across multiple platforms.
Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of The Luckiest, Mr Dennis Adutwum, described the 2025 edition as highly successful, noting that the initiative had grown significantly in participation and impact.
“Today has been very beautiful as we crowned the final lap for The Luckiest 2025. We’ve gone all over Ghana to spread luck, and what we witnessed today was a successful grand draw,” he said, adding that the platform had now rewarded winners for the third consecutive year.
According to Mr Adutwum, beyond the GH¢2.5 million grand prize, bonus winning tickets 56789, 00999, and 24680 each earned winners 100 times the amount purchased, while several communities also benefited under the Community Wins category.
The Carpenters Community (96) placed first, receiving ten times the amount purchased, followed by the Civil Servants Community (97) in second place with seven times their stake. The Nurses Community (44) placed third, while the July Borns Community (1) took fourth place.
Mr Adutwum disclosed that participation on the platform more than doubled this year, rising from about 400,000 users in 2024 to over 850,000 participants in 2025, with many engaging multiple times.
“Half of whatever we raise goes back as winnings to the general public, and this year we surpassed last year’s volumes,” he said, adding that a significant portion of proceeds would also go into corporate social responsibility projects encouraged by the National Lotteries Authority under the Caritas platform.
He announced plans to expand The Luckiest beyond Ghana, revealing that the platform would be launched in Nigeria, with the long-term goal of reaching other African countries.
Brand ambassador for The Luckiest, Hon. Mickey Osei-Beku, congratulated the winners, describing the initiative as one that spreads wealth rather than concentrating it in the hands of a few.
“Somebody or some group of people are becoming richer tonight, and that is good for Ghana,” he said, noting that last year over 4,500 people won cash prizes, with expectations that 7,000 to 8,000 winners could emerge this year.
He credited the media for the programme’s growing visibility and impact, while encouraging Ghanaians to continue participating by dialing *712#, stressing that participation not only offers a chance to win but also supports community development and social causes.
