Mr. Ernest Brogya Genfi has been nominated as Deputy Minister Designate for Defence, according to an announcement on February 5, 2025 signed by Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the Acting Spokesperson to President John Dramani Mahama.
Mr. Ernest Brogya Genfi was one of the key campaign team members of the National Chairman of the Party, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, across the length and breadth of the country.
Party supporters from the Ashanti Region and Kumasi in particular, believe that the appointment of the former Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the party is an appreciation of his tireless efforts in campaigning with the National Chairman, after he lost the position to become the National Youth Organiser to the party.
Mr. Brogya Genfi is a Marketing Consultant with keen interest in political marketing and public administration. He has international exposure and he is an alumnus of the United States of America International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP).
Mr. Brogya Genfi also has over two decades of experience in both the private and public sectors to his credit, having worked with the National Trust Holding Company (NTHC) and the Information Services Department.
He has developed a strong expertise in strategic marketing, public administration and political communications. He once worked as the Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council.
He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Strategic Marketing from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.
He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies from the Institute of Commercial Studies, United Kingdom and he is a Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants, Ghana.
With his passion for politics, Brogya Genfi, as a youth activist, served as the regional Youth Organiser of the NDC in the Ashanti Region and the party’s parliamentary candidate for Suame in the 2016 election.
Brogya Genfi is currently the Deputy Director for Special Duties in the NDC. He is currently studying at Wisconsin International University College, Accra, as a final year student, pursuing a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB), which demonstrates his commitment to continuous learning and growth.
